Teams of two.” Immediately, everyone started talking at once. “I’m not teaming with you.” “You cheated last time.” “You literally mime like a confused stick figure.” Alaric glanced at me calmly. “We’re together.”

I say slowly, thinking about what I just heard “It does,” Charles says and he starts to open the backpack he has by the side of the chair he is sitting on. “I knew that she would not believe me, so I brought the book…” he struggles with the bag for some time and after a little back-and-forth, he brings out an old book with thick ancient back. He blows off the little specs of dust on the book before he starts to open up the page pages.

They both turned to look at Maxwell and seeing the expectant looks on their faces, he gave in despite his frame of mind. "What do I need to do?" Angelina cheered "Yay!" upon hearing that before excitedly explaining, "Okay guys, this game isn't your regular charades game. In this one, I'm going to write down some things on pieces of paper and roll them up. They will be placed in a closed container which all players will take turns shaking before choosing a paper at random. And the player has to act like whatever is written on the paper he/ she has chosen. Understood?"

Elara thought for a second before answering. "Because sad stories feel honest." The answer made Charlie unexpectedly still. Elara noticed the way his expression softened slightly, as though he was trying to understand her properly for the first time.

“Forget it.” I turned another page and studied the pictures. She pressed a wide strip of cellophane tape to a hunk of the black plastic. “Will you tell me if I guess it?” “Of course. Now who in here could be Uncle Charles?” She slowly peeled the tape off the cassette. “No one. That book’s too old. That’s the early 1900s. There’s another one where you found that one.”

Kimara said confidently, having communicated what to say to Kassandra. "Good," Sarah said. She didn't start asking Kassandra directly. She looked deep into her eyes and said, "In a game of charade, the actor is supposed to act out what he or she picked while his or her team watches and guesses the answer and no drawing or sign made in the air, suggesting the answer to such a team, is allowed," Sarah made sure that her words sank in her head, then continued. "Why was Mrs. Kassandra so focused on watching Kimara's fingers instead and doing the same with her fingers too when Kimara was acting her paper out?"
