“Where is Elise?” At my question, Charlie’s gaze shifts to the burning building, causing all the pain I felt earlier on to come back. “No!” I attempt to jump up, but my body won’t do as I say. “What the hell?” I hiss, continuing to try to move. “We thought you might attempt to do something stupid when you came to.” Charlie explains. “So we gave you something to keep you from flinging yourself into the flames while the fire fighters worked to put it out.”
