"This passage here," she whispered, tapping a paragraph, "says that shadows can be summoned and controlled by someone with enough power to bend them to their will. But they aren’t just for show. They’re used to gather information, observe without being seen... or attack.” I felt a shiver run down my spine. “So they were really targeting me.”
