I chased after her. Lucas shouted, "Alpha, wait!" But I couldn't. There was just something about her that I couldn’t ignore. The girl was a fast she-wolf. But I was faster. I gained ground, my longer strides eating up the distance. Then she stopped abruptly, making me skid to a halt. Turned to face me, her chest heaving, her face matted to her forehead with sweat. I didn't know what I was going to do to her when I caught her, but the chase was so exhilarating. I didn't think at all of what was coming next.
