The Biker's Rules
My knees give out, and I sink to the floor, clutching my chest as if I can physically hold the pain in place, keep it from ripping me apart.
It doesn’t work. Nothing works.
With trembling hands, I pick up the phone again.
The photo fills the screen.
Chloe.
Naked.
Smiling like she won something.
One hand behind her head, the other strategically placed — barely — over her pubic area. Her double-Ds are completely uncovered, full and unapologetic, her nipples darker than mine, smug in a way that feels personal.
Even her body looks arrogant.
My lungs forget their job. I try to breathe, but the air won’t come. It’s like my chest has collapsed inward, crushed by the weight of what I’m seeing.
