Arthur and I join the others in the living room, where a beautiful Christmas tree stands, twinkling with lights and ornaments. We gather around, everyone smiling and chatting, waiting for the clock to strike twelve. There’s a sense of anticipation, and I can feel Arthur’s hand tighten around mine. After the gifts are exchanged, we all raise our glasses for a toast. Arthur’s father, a kind man with a twinkle in his eye, leads the toast.

she teased. "Hey, now! I wouldn't go that far." She laughed as a blush colored her cheeks. The choir continued to the next house and then another, singing all of the classic Christmas songs in the folder and even ones that weren't. Of course, they didn't expect anything in return, but one family gave them hot chocolate, and a few others gave donations to the church. In all, they had a wonderful time.

I chose The Santa Clause. Wilder and Wyatt passed on picking movies, because it was late and they wanted Grandpa to have a turn. He pulls out his movie from his pocket, handing the DVD to Wyatt. Grandpa Mick has Jacks now, holding him close and I love the sight. I pull my phone out and take a picture.

I read as I swipe down the list, “There’s Christmas carols on the playlist——Silent Night, We Three Kings, The First Noel…” Before I can finish, Jamie strikes a cold stare at me, “No.” “No Christmas carols? Oh, okay.” I swipe to the next session, “We can do Christmas Pop too——Justin Bieber’s Mistletoe, Robbie Williams’s Merry Kissmas, oh wow there’s even Lil Nas X’s HOLIDAY.” He’ll totally nail his entrance with these songs. However, it seems like Jamie doesn’t think so. He gives me a deep exhale, “No. Chandelier. No.”

Now, it was paid off but sitting empty. Putting the unpleasantness out of her mind, Memory switched on the Christmas music and hummed along to “Silent Night” as she checked the stock room to make sure she had the candy cane ornaments ready to ship. She loved music but never sang and only hummed if no one else was around to hear her chronically off-tune voice.

It’s beautiful out, the snow is coming according to the forecast, we had a flurry a few days ago but it didn’t really settle but I know it’s on its way. Since it’s Christmas Eve, Cody and I will head over to my folks for around six in the evening, my great, great, great grandparents were from Germany and we have this tradition where we open a few presents around the Christmas tree on Christmas eve with lovely music playing, mom’s favorite being Silent Night, Holy night and a buffet on the dining table. I love this time of year, it’s my all time favorite. Everyone is smiley and happy, their love is transparent but come to think of it, it’s like this every day in our small town. Our community

Killian immediately shrugged out of his jacket and draped it around her shoulders, and she pulled it tight around herself, breathing in his scent. "I loved Christmas here," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "It was—they made it so special. So magical. Mrs Morales would start decorating the day after Thanksgiving. She had made us all hot chocolate and put on Christmas music–Mary's Boy Child by Bonney M precisely, and we'd spend the whole day turning the house into something out of a Hallmark movie. And Mr Morales, he'd read us the Christmas story every single night in December, counting down until the actual day. And Daryl would—" She couldn't finish. "I hated the smell of Christmas

Jordan teased, placing the order and pretending not to notice how familiar her choice felt. Once everything was set, he dimmed the lights and turned on Elf. Jordan found himself humming along, smiling when Malaya belted out the lyrics with total

Hasn't the rule always been Christmas music starts on Thanksgiving day? The song changes and new lyrics quickly cover the silence. "Here comes Santa paws" makes my steps falter.
