she muttered to Katherine, who was fixed on the ground, uneasy under the man's piercing gaze. Katherine's smile felt forced as she fidgeted, her fingers twisting together. "Katherine Danvers Thompson," she stammered, introducing herself. Halo's smirk sent shivers down her spine as he took her hand, his lips grazing the back of it. His touch was cold, calculating. The downtown area was similar to a lot of the towns Dak had visited recently, looking for the perfect place to start his new endeavor, but there was something slightly different about Christmas Falls, something special he couldn’t quite put his finger on.
