He spat out a dark light that shot right at Chase. Meanwhile, Chase conjured a green talisman in his hand. He gripped it in his palm while channeling his energy to activate it. A brilliant purplish-golden light slowly glowed and formed into a halo that hung above Chase's head. The dark light spat out by the man was obliterated upon contact with the halo. It could not harm Chase at all. "Who exactly are you?" The man could not help asking. There was fear and shock on his face.

Mara's POV “I have never celebrated Christmas because every year I'm afraid that the curse would strike again.” My mouth hung open as I remembered the signage at the spa earlier and my mind quickly connected the pieces together.
