I have never trusted December. People say that sounds dramatic, but those people never watched their parents’ house burn down on Christmas Eve while the rest of the town kept singing carols like nothing happened. So yes,every time snow falls, my skin crawls. And tonight, on December 1st, Hallowpine is drowning in it. Snowflakes tumble from the sky like they’re drunk on holiday spirit, sticking to my eyelashes as I lock up my bakery. Sugar & Sin,the name sounds cute until you realize the only sugar inside is the kind I dump into coffee to survive this town.

I learned to be thankful and quiet. That acceptance made me hate Christmas. Love songs made my skin crawl. The lights under our tree looked like glass eyes. The ribbons on the presents were traps. Every year, the house tuned itself to cheer and I pretended to enjoy it. The twenty-fifth became the night when a new kind of cold touched my bones. It was the day the truth had crawled out at me like an animal. It was the day I had learned how much of my life had been decided by other hands.

Completely and hopelessly. He held her until she calmed down, then kissed her forehead. “You’re going to love the rest. Come on. Keep opening.” The third gift was a pair of Jimmy Choo satin heels. Limited edition. She laughed in disbelief. “Only three pairs in the world and you bought one of them?” “I have my talents.” The fourth was an original Hermès bag. By the time she opened the last one, she was already overwhelmed. It was a large Christmas snow globe. Inside it was a picture of the two of them, the one they had taken in Snowbrook. At the base of the globe were the wise men and shepherds, and carved into it were two letters. M & L.

He said as he clapped his hands, looking at his mother's face as she cleared her throat. "It was a beautiful December day" She began, "with clear blue sky and snow-covered treetops. Christmas was in the air but up in Santa’s lodge, all was quiet. The usual hustle and bustle of preparing Christmas presents had gone for Santa had fallen ill. “Oh dear, what will the children say when they don’t receive presents this year,” Santa wondered sadly as he lay on his bed.

Not with the paycheck. Christmas just got a whole lot fucking worse.

She picked it up, dusting it off. “Give it to me,” Halle commanded, and Hazel handed the globe to her. Then she rubbed it slowly, causing it to give a faint glow. Soon, a mist formed around it, and she stared into it, trying to contact the ten witches. “Halle Baudelaire,” one witch called out to her as soon as her face popped up in their chambers. “How may we help you, great one?” Hearing them call her the great one even after she lost the battle with Enzo made Halle feel good a bit. It had been a rough fight, and she let her emotions take over, but she knew too that it was destiny, and there was almost nothing she could do about it.

The Hadens had found them again. The three of them; Mariana, Scholastica, and Cordis immediately started fighting them off. Theresa tried to run away with the glowing halo but was stopped by one of the Hadens who pushed her to the ground, making the halo to fall to the ground. He ventured to pick it up with his hands but the temperature of the halo melted off his hand, up to his shoulder level, and while he was screaming in pain and agony, Theresa gave him a death blow, clamped the halo with the hook rod, and ran off.

He could lose everything, but he couldn't lose her. Malakai took Eden's halo and broke it in half creating two horns instead. The halo that represented innocence was what Malakai broke and turned it into a killer. He took an angel and turned her into a devil. But deep down, she always remained an angel. Malakai's angel. Even with her broken halo. So, like I said. This wasn't a story about heroes and villains, this was all about the villains. Because villains will always be villains if the heroes tell the story. So I decided to tell you a story from the villain's point of view.

3rd January, 1999(morning) The Warehouse Lana Its a never ending circle. A repeated sequence I experience everyday, locked up in this room with little or no contact. A hollow feeling in my heart whenever I think about my family, the grief I feel whenever I remember those who died in that bloody Christmas party.

The Hale Fortress. The Great Hall. December 25th. 8:00 PM. Snow was falling over Neo-Veridia. It blanketed the city in silence, turning the jagged steel skyline into something soft and ghostly. But nowhere was the snow thicker than on the cliffs surrounding the Hale Fortress. Inside, however, the temperature was warm. The Great Hall, usually a cavernous space designed to intimidate business rivals, had been transformed. A twenty-foot fir tree stood in the center, decorated not with tinsel, but with antique crystals and lights that shimmered like captured stars.
