Nelly could vaguely hear the conversation outside, their excitement piquing her curiosity. What kind of client would make them so thrilled? She glanced at Chris and saw him sitting up straight, his expression turning serious. At that moment, someone entered the room. “Chris, Nelson is calling you guys.” Chris stood up sternly and walked over, followed closely by three others. As he passed by Nelly, he paused and warned her, “Remember what I said. Don’t interrupt!” “Okay!” Nelly replied with a smile. After Chris left, she quietly trailed behind him.

Nelson said, a faint smile tugging at his lips. Grace met his gaze with quiet confidence. “Good morning, Alpha Nelson. You’re right on time.” Victor and Cindy gawked, utterly speechless, as Nelson Divine—the Alpha Nelson Divine—stood there, larger than life.

It was ten p.m. and Christopher was sitting up in bed with his laptop on his lap. Since he didn’t have the flash drive he needed to work, he enjoyed the works of Winter Rose. He had to admit he was flattered that Selena lusted after him like this – even though she thought he was an asshole ninety percent of the time. And he was. He proudly admitted that. Having a reputation for being an asshole made people think twice about screwing him over. It was a good rep to have in business.

Nelson replied nervously, “I did not keep count of this but I think that the amount should hit three digits.” Charlie continued to ask, “Who is the person supporting you to do these kinds of things? Who is your backer?” Nelson replied, “My backers are my sister and my brother-in-law.” Charlie asked, “What are the names of your sister and brother-in-law? What do they do?” Nelson replied honestly, “My sister’s name is Alice Bishop. She is not employed and she is a full-time housewife. My brother-in-law is Donald Webb. He is the heir of the Webb family from Sudbury.”

Two sandwiches and a bowl of chili later, and I was full. Another wolf entered. He was very tall, probably six and a half feet. He had long blonde hair. Although not as muscular as either Alpha, he was clearly a powerful wolf. I noticed that Talia looked up at him but then blushed and looked away. I gave her a questioning look, but she quickly turned away from me. “Harley, this is Anders’ Beta, Neil.” He held out his hand and I took it, shaking his hand.

He lived with his grandfather, Joseph Lachlan who was one of the richest men listed by Forbes. Nathaniel never talked much but always stood up against the bullies who targeted weak people. His one menacing look made the bullies question their existence. I sighed in relief when I saw my classroom from my peripheral vision. Nelson stated bluntly, dropping all pretense of professionalism. "You're shameless!" Christina growled in anger. Nelson sneered and leaned back, patting his thighs as he mocked her. His tone turned cruder as he continued, "Let me have my fun tonight, and I'll approve the funds. You'll walk out of here with everything you came for."

Alayna stated bluntly, completely cold to the still open wound Christopher bore everywhere he went. "Ouch." Though he was playing it off Christopher definitely understood their anger. I nodded. “Thank you for that. Have you found out anything yet?” He shook his head. “No, Felix and Cornelius have been working on it.” I looked at him confused. “Why are they working on it?” He looked over at Lynn and she nodded at him. “Jensen, Cornelius is the Don of the Roman mafia. He is the reason why we were able to save you.”

“You’re calling the cops?” “No, I’m calling an ambulance. You said there are children. They need medical attention, we can report the accident later. Write down your details, please.” He handed me a black notebook. The front is embossed with gold lettering. Greyson Elliot. Slack-jawed, I glanced at the notebook, then cast my gaze over the God before me. It can’t be? It’s not possible. He has Greyson’s eyes but nothing else. Greyson Elliot is a scrawny, acne-ridden geek and dirt poor. And I haven’t laid eyes on him in a decade.
