HELENA'S POV Two weeks later I had suddenly become friends with my best friend's girlfriend Cherry. Cherry would be the sister I never had. She did everything with professionalism and the fact that she would be my best friend's wife in a few months makes me want to draw her to me forever. We've had a few dinners at home together and she has always helped with picking out the best decor and designs we would use for my big day. I have known her only a few weeks but I must say that she is truly an angel. Gabriel needed a woman like her around him. I went back to ignoring cherry, avoiding her at every turn, I started hanging out with Ray more, he had a girlfriend now, her name was Asher, we called her archer just to get under her skin, she was really cute, dark skinned, short and crazy. "Kay, if he ran away from you, you'd probably chain him to your bed and feed him strawberries and cream until he was either sick or gave up." She chuckled at that but denied it profusely, but she knew it was true. Kay was a clingy girlfriend at best, probably why she hadn’t had a boyfriend in months. I wasn’t about to tell her my theory, though. She’d completely turn it around and ask why I haven’t had a boyfriend in years.

She furrowed her brows and kept staring. “Yo, you can come out, she’s cool,” The guy said. His name was Chad. He used to date Cassie when they were in High School. Well, they had not dated for long because she had later found out that he was a witch, so she had broken up with him. His parents were wealthy, and he was kind of a drug addict, but he knew a lot about witches and vampires. He was very smart. If anyone would be able to help her and keep their mouth shut, it would be him.

“I see you two together all the time. Having lunch, laughing I saw him run out of here just now. What did you do, cry to him so he would feel sorry for you?” I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. “Who are you?” “I’m Chloe. Luke’s girlfriend,” she said her voice dripping with venom. “And I’m telling you right now you better stay away from him.” She warns sending me glare. “Huh?” “Is this what you like doing? Going after other people’s men? First you can’t let go of your ex-husband and now you’re after my boyfriend?” My mouth fell open. I was stunned. “You have this all wrong. Luke and I are just friends there is nothing going on.”

Everyone knew she was marrying Henry except me. Six years of my life turned out to be a ridiculous joke. I stood quietly outside the room. Jay jerks away like someone poured ice water down his back, and I’m left standing there, blinking at Lucas. I should say something. Anything. Instead, I just glare at him, trying to ignore the way my heart feels like it’s attempting parkour in my chest. His friends are behind him, looking equally pissed. Like, what’s their fucking deal? Did they all decide to make my life a collective problem? “You’re… Alpha Lucas, right?” Jay starts, his voice shaking just a little.
