The air inside was warm, a little heavy with the scent of mint and something faintly sweet. I moved to the living room and sat on the far end of the couch. She didn’t join me right away. She walked over to the window, pulling back the curtain to look out at the dark trees. “You okay?” I asked. “Define ‘okay.’” I waited. She let the curtain fall and turned toward me. “You’re a vampire.” I nodded. She didn’t flinch. “And Sienna’s a witch. And Isaac too?” I nodded again. “Same as me. Just more annoying.”

All of which led to Cade. “Despite his uncanny resemblance to Marius” she continued, a bored tone to her voice. “He is not of his line, however, we do have someone who is.” A slow, cruel, smile curved her blood red lips. Marius, I concluded, was the original vampire, Andromeda’s lover. At least now I had a name to tell Cade if I ever got out of here. She continued to walk further into the room, her eyes taking it in and she seemed satisfied.

Radomir scoffed. “I haven't got all day little girl” he replied angrily and knocked the knife out of her hand. “Bring the girl. Clementine POV With Creed we went to the Chairman's office. When we entered the Chairman's office, Creed and I were immediately exposed to three Vampire High students. Two of them were women, they were bent over and the man was looking straight at me. She had a bruise on her side lip. It is possible that these three have a case. The Chairman sat us in front of the three while he sat in his chair. I looked at the Chairman. He turned to look at me.

We stopped to look up so I whispered to the doctor who was standing so tall behind me, “Those fireworks, doctor, are the left of the rogue vampires.”

Catherine launched in like a rocket and sparred at the female vampire so heavily they both crashed against a packed car.

“There were other cases like this in the city, grandfather. We've discovered that there are an increased number of missing women daily. You know what this means, right?” Her grandfather doesn't know how to react even though he knows what Akira means. “I think there was a breach. I believe some vampires have already escaped the Riparian zone and sneaked in to mate with our female citizens to produce dhampir.” Akira muttered but enough for her grandfather to hear. Anger is evident in her voice despite having a cold expression.

Taking up position next to her, he looked down at Lydia’s headless corpse. The vampire that killed her held her head aloft, ululating in the night sky. And Aster was angry. He didn’t need the bond to know this. She looked at Rowan, her eyes filling with tears, then back at the mad vampire. “Who are you?” she asked softly. “I am Cyrus’s oldest son. Daniel” She nodded slowly, and Declan’s insides turned to water. Her eyes were cold, dead. “We told you to go home.”
