Raphael shook his head helplessly as he heard Chris explaining “I understood the gist of what you are doing; What I don’t get is the need for these schemes?” Chris briefly explained how Eva was staring at his every move as the men she sent out to find Emile’s whereabouts had returned empty handed. Eva took a nap after lunch while Alexander worked on his laptop. Later, she took out a book she had been wanting to read for a long time. It was a bestselling romance novel that both Hayley and Sienna had recommended to her. Alyssa bought it immediately, but being busy with her own real-life romance, she hardly got time to read it. “What’s that? Oh, romance? Don’t tell me you believe in that shit?” he teased her, his eyes twinkling with amusement.

He nodded his head in approval and then walked inside the room looking at Eva. Eva was sitting near the library, reading a book. As always shecwas absorbed in reading and did not realise that the man was already in room. "This is one of my favourites too. I love how the man lives the girl silently, without expecting anything in return." He sat down on the couch next to Eva, looking at her. Eva finally moved her eyes away from the book in much surprise. "You have read this two thousand pages long book?" "Twice." Troy pursed his lips, as if somebody was suddenly reading his soul.

‘Maybe he developed a liking for it,’ Chris thought with a shrug. He randomly pulled out a book from the romance section and read it. After skimming through the first few chapters, his interest died down and he immediately closed the book. Chris placed it back to where he had first found it. He felt chills running down his spine as the scenes were repeatedly playing in his head. “Just what kind of a book lets the female lead be so whiny and crazy?! My Lord… Nathan Hunt, just what kind of—never mind. I don’t even want to know,” he shuddered in disgust and hurriedly walked away from there.

The man clapped him on the back. "I'm Chris, nice to meet you!" he said with a wide smile. "Evan, from Indonesia!" Evander replied with a faint smile. Chris's eyes widened at the answer. "Wow, Evan!" he exclaimed admiringly. "Indonesia, have you been here long?" he continued, asking enthusiastically. "Nah! Only a few weeks," Evander replied. Chris nodded, listening. They then fell into a light conversation about their wives, occasionally punctuated by Chris's boisterous laughter at his own jokes.
