Fran- Nice Cover. Alpha Devon looks over the journal again and shakes his head. “You asked to see me, oh well, well, well, come to submit?” Atlas asks me. “You know you are mighty pretty.” “Atlas knock it off,” Devon tells him. “Want to explain this?” Atlas reads over the journal of attacks.

My brain is mush. I hear Atlas's office door open and realize it's already five p.m. "Are you almost ready to head to dinner?" Atlas asks, his head peeking through the crack in the door. I nod, "Of course. Just let me grab my coat." Atlas and I take a short walk down the street for an early dinner at his favorite restaurant. He always comes here for business lunches because it has great food and a relaxing atmosphere. When we sit at the table, I can see Atlas watching me carefully. He's inspecting every single move I make, and he tilts his head.

Once I was out of earshot, I picked up the call and a voice broke through. “Hello? This is Clara from JR Industries,” The person on the other line said. “I am just calling to confirm if we can book your flight for tomorrow morning. We spoke to your lawyer and…” My legs suddenly felt heavier. How could I forget the plan and the real reason I came tonight? I had to make a decision. If Atlas did not grow closer to me to save Lovie and he was trying - doing everything to fix the fractured bonds… Was it right to leave when I was an arm's length away from everything I wanted? Did I… did I still want Atlas? Or was I finding roses where they were thorns?

Chapter 3: The Home That Calls You Back The next time Atlas sees Nova, she’s not at the graveyard. She’s sitting on the church steps, notebook closed for once, her eyes watching nothing in particular. He almost walks past her, but something in her posture—the way her shoulders are set like she’s waiting for a storm—makes him stop. "You avoiding the graves today?" he asks. Nova looks up, her mouth curving into half a smile. "Even ghosts need new scenery."

At least not before now. Celia swallowed. “My mother is hunting today. She’s left with others.” “We’re not here to see Sheeva,” a one–handed Atlas said. Of average height, Atlas had dark hair and slitted dark eyes, a cloth tied around the stump that was his hand. Celia was sure it wouldn’t be long before he could take off the cloth. However, he was now without a hand. “We would like to speak with you,” he said. Celia stared, surprised, and forgetting they were waiting for her to let them in. Jon growled, pushing through them and Celia to let himself in.

A moo snarl thunders in his chest. “We are never nothing, Nyx. Not you and me.” “Just don’t, Atlas,” I answer, his words cutting through my chest and straight into my heart which is all as well willing to drop for him. “Fine, but I know that look,” Chart book demands, pulling my chin up so he can see me in the eyes. I don’t thrust absent his touch this time, and I ought to have. “You’re ruminating.”

I whispered. Atlas nodded slowly. The heat in his eyes sharpened, dropping to my mouth. He looked hungry. "And that was it," he murmured, his voice rasping. "I don’t take advantage of girls who are tripping on drugs. But..." His gaze grew heavy. "I’m not above helping you with the heat." "Hallucinating..." I breathed. The word felt like a ghost on my tongue, but it brought a strange peace. "I’m glad you told me that."

"There's no date, there's also no cohesive language. It's almost like a diary that's been added to over the centuries." "Shit." I rubbed a finger over my eyebrows. "Exactly. Atlas and Taryk are going to see about getting a private showing." I raised an eyebrow. "They have that kind of clout?" Ransom chuckled. "They have enough." "What does the book say about changing into animals?"

Atlas asked when he saw Alton. Alton looked at me and then at Atlas. "Of course," Alton happily responded. "Come here Mommy, Uncle Alton," Atlas uttered then tapped the space beside him. Alton and I looked at each other before we decided to give in to Atlas's wants. I carefully occupy the space beside Atlas and Alton did the same. Atlas gave his favourite storybook to Alton and after that, Alton started reading the story. When Atlas fell asleep he was about to stand but I stop him.
