Raven POV: I break into a run - swift, silent, gliding through the undergrowth and shadow as if the woods were made for me. The journal thumps lightly against my chest beneath the cloak. The marks in it are fading, and I don't know how long they'll hold The forest shifts as I move - greener older. Lush. No wonder it is named Greenwoods. Ryel waits for me beyond the clearing, seated near the broken alter stone. A fire crackles low beside him, it flames blue and strange, licking the air with silent hunger. He doesn't look up as I approach.

The morning air hung thick with frost, each breath a ribbon of silver trailing skyward like smoke from a dying altar. The wind curled low across the stone, whistling between the bones of the old pine roots and whispering through the high grasses brittle with ice. It was not yet sunrise, not truly, but the light that broke over Emberfall’s ridgelines painted the world in steel and mist. Ruvan rode alone. His cloak, dyed the deep grey of mourning, fluttered behind him like ash caught in slow wind. The markings across his bare neck, delicate, precise inked lines that marked his rite of blood and moon, seemed almost to glow in the thin light, as if they remembered too.

The door was solid oak with heavy locks. Beautiful, comfortable, and absolutely inescapable. Perfect. I reached carefully into my elaborately styled hair and extracted a small crystal, no bigger than a pearl. The communication device pulsed with soft blue light as I activated it with a whisper of power. "I am in," I whispered quietly. Static crackled for a moment before a familiar voice responded—rough, commanding, tinged with the kind of darkness that made smart people run. "About time, little wolf. Status report."

Chapter One: A New Beginning Aqua’s heart raced as she walked through the imposing iron gates of Crestwood High. Another town, another school, another chance to start over—if only it were that simple. At 5'10", her presence commanded attention, but she preferred to stay unnoticed. Her dark skin glowed under the morning sun, and her eyes, a striking shade of amber, held secrets untold. She pulled her hood tighter, hoping to shield herself from the prying eyes she could already feel on her.

Clover hates eating late. As six o’clock approaches, there’s another knock. Clover steps in and her top layer of clothing is gone. Shes now sleeveless in a fitted shirt and flowing pants, just clean lines. She looks unreal. My mouth actually waters. “You ready?” she asks. “Yes,” I manage. We head to the garage. I open the door for her. “Oh,” she says, smiling. “I like this car.” “It’s a BMW SUV. I know you like them.”

At Raven's subtle gesture, Rein and Calder collapsed at our feet. I called forth my enchanted sword, gently resting its blade against Rein's throat. "The world may fear us sisters, but there are those who hold us dear: the High King of Heaven, the Whispering Witch, the Pomegranate Moon Witch...and Kael and Raven. Their presence keeps hope alive, holding back the tide of chaos. "However, as for you, you're about to wade through your very own maelstrom of chaos." Together, Serena and I unleashed our power, driving them both to the edge of death.

I notice Clover running closer to the border. The border of where? I can’t tell in the dark. I do know that we shouldn’t be here, however. Sure, Bella can take care of herself and me; she’s a trained warrior. I’m no shrinking violet myself, but that’s not to say Bella and I go looking for trouble. ‘Clover!’ My wolf yells into our mind-link. She stops and turns to my wolf. Clover, a large black and tan wolf, trots over and nudges my snout with her own.

He’s a coward he knows he can’t take me with Ezra around but he doesn’t know the strength of my wolf. “Clover, shift”

After making sure the keychain wouldn't break easily, Brawen smiled with satisfaction: "Really, I know I'm good, but there's no need to be so emotional. Actually, in the world, it's quite normal for people to give each other gifts." Riven unconsciously drew a beautiful warm smile that had not appeared in a cold-blooded person like him for a long time. He turned around and took the pink cherry blossom hairpin he had just seen, and personally put it on Brawen's hair: "Then this one I give to you." Brawen looked at the pretty cherry blossom clip lying in her hair and nodded happily. Riven commented: "You are still more suitable for a beautiful red rose."

Even her name meant a small songbird which fits with the sunny weather so well. Robin took a look at the clothes that Wren had brought with her. She was surprised to see a simple yellow sundress with large printed flowers on it. It looks too bright and feminine for Raven’s taste. In fact they had never seen Raven wore clothes as bright as this and with feminine patterns like its flowers. Raven always wore plain shirts and pants all with the basic dull colors. Still, with her porcelain skin and pitch black eyes and a hair as dark as ebony, her plain clothes still suited her so well.
