"You’re just like Boss T. You’re so nosy. Cody retorted. He glanced at the side mirror and saw three motorbikes still tailing them. "Kat! We have 'tailers', "Cody announced. He thought he had invented that word, but Katarina had been telling him that there was a word ‘tailer’ in the dictionary. Cody immediately opened the roof of the RV. "Got it," Give me a hundred fifty. I’ll teach these kids a lesson. Cody stepped on the accelerator pad. Ezra saw the man's face scrunch up in confusion. "Cody, what the hell are you doing here? I thought you left with the rest of Bane's thugs." Cody gave them a weak shrug, his body seeming too scrawny for his clothes. "I was just out walking and heard the yelling. I came to see if someone was in trouble."

“I didn’t drink nearly a bottle and a half of scotch. How did you get roped into participating today?” “It appears your mate’s version of revenge is quite similar to the Little Alpha’s,” he huffed. “I think I lost my name, too.” “She learned from the best, then.” Cody hopped in the passenger side of my truck, waiting until the engine roared to life to continue talking. “See any of the people you’re looking out for?” I nodded in confirmation. “A couple. They seem to be the better warriors. Adara is in this group, too.”

It felt like the only place I could bring them. As we settle down on the blankets and dig into the food, we’re quiet. Nova and Cody both seem to be waiting to see what’ll happen next. Looks like it’s up to me to get the ball rolling. “So, Cody. What have you been up to in the Hartwood pack?” I ask. Cody takes a bite of a strawberry, his lips wrapping around it in a way that sends a jolt straight to my cock. I have to focus hard on his answer and not get lost in imagining where else I’d like those lips.

Cody comforted her gently and slowly stood up from the chair. “Alexander is right. Warrior or not, I am still an alpha by blood.” He added it with the same comforting, faint smile. Yet despite all his troubles, Cody was still the second strongest wolf in the entire pack. His abilities were comparable to Adrien's, plus he could sometimes beat him in specific competitions. “Lydia, this is Cody Thunder. Cody, Lydia McKenzie. Cody works as the Mayor’s bodyguard and he’s a part-timer here.” I nodded at Cody in greeting, but he just grinned and ruffled my hair in a big-brotherly manner. “Nice to meet you, kiddo.” “And this is Harvey Raider.” He pointed to a brunette with a lean built who was in a white shirt and denims. He also had two eyebrow rings and his hair was long, reaching past his shoulders. He looked younger than the others, but not quiet our age either. “He’s a tattoo artist.” “Hi!” I waved at him and he nodded in acknowledgement.

Cody hasn’t gotten off. “Damn, I haven’t seen Cody since…” Ludo trailed off and I can feel his eyes on me. “We should probably go in,” he changed the subject. “You guys go,” I said quietly. “I’ll catch up,” I grabbed my phone and got out, heading for the bike. It’s then Cody moves to get off the bike, taking the helmet off. I almost cringed at the nest of black shiny hair spilling out of the helmet. I stopped in front of him, tilting my head to catch his stormy grey eyes underneath all that hair. His eyes are just as I remember.

“Kill the b*stard.” “He’s evil.” “Don’t let him live!” Adrian waved the guard’s blade, cutting Cody’s sleeve. There was a wolf tattoo on Cody’s arm too. The guard saw this and was furious. “He’s one of the Wolf Fangs! Guys, get him. The Wolf Fangs constantly attack the Debonaire Syndicate. We can’t just idly by.” Cody leaped away and grabbed a man next to him. “I’ll kill him if you dare to come close!”
