I eye the cup of creamy coffee goodness in my left hand as I walk down the bookstore aisle. How was I supposed to know that the new bookstore across my street would be selling coffee too? It’s a temptation that I couldn't just ignore. I bought a medium size to make myself feel less guilty but…argh…whatever.

"There's a café across the street. Best coffee in town." She paused, and something playful danced in her eyes. "Want to find out if we have better luck with coffee than books?" Ian hesitated. Every instinct said no. Walk away. Don't do this. You're not ready. But something in her smile…warm, easy, uncomplicated…made him pause. "Okay." ***** They walked to the café together. And for the first time in months, Ian didn't feel like he was drowning. They talked for hours. About everything and nothing.

Abandoning the desk, I moved to the Shelves and looked through the books on them. The shelves housed not only business books but also some classic literature that I was certain Tom never read. He had probably only gotten them to make himself feel smart. I gritted my teeth in anger at the thought, picking a book to look through it. It was a good thing reading the book made one smarter rather than hoarding them, was it not? In another corner of the room, there was something like a coffee station. On a ledge of wood attached to both corners of the wall, there was an espresso machine.

Dmitri guided the awe-struck tourist. Then, Dmitri took the tourist to a vintage looking coffee bar on the right, made of reclaimed wood, where soft classical music was playing in the background. "This Book Café is known for its gourmet mochas that are named after books," Dmitri explained the reason behind the christening of the beverages on the menu. "Wow ! I have never heard of such a thing in my life !!" The tourist exclaimed.

Although it was not as enthusiastic as Rafael's work, the business of the coffee shop was also becoming more and more stable. Jessie stayed in lounge and read books for a long time. Alex came over to pick her up. Jessie had already fallen asleep on the sofa. Alex picked up the book Jessie had just read. The name of the book was Appreciation and Taste. Alex casually flipped through it. The book talked about various combinations of coffee and desserts as well as their main characteristics. Jessie woke up and saw Alex reading the book that she had read. Thinking that she was too lazy to sleep when she read the book, Jessie's face turned a little red. "When did you come over?"

He ended the phone call and rushed outside. From the office floor to the second and first floor, he was not only warmly greeted by his friendly staff but was also welcomed with a busy sight. Leer is always jam packed with book and coffee lovers. Couples, adults, teens and young people can be seen in all the corners of this book cafe. Goers surely enjoy varieties of coffee, fruit drinks, pastries, cakes and snacks that are visually appetizing and undoubtedly delicious in a cozy atmosphere. I asked, not moving my gaze off the shelf as I searched for the newly released books. “No, I don't read books, the only time I read is when checking out the paperwork at my desk.” he groaned and I nodded my head, there was no need to bring up a book conversation when he doesn't read. “Do you like ice coffee?” I asked, shoving my head into the shelf to check out some more books. “Yes, why?” he groaned, tapping his foot on the floor. “If you are a fan of ice coffee, I know some places that sell great coffee around this place.” I smiled, picking out a book from the other side of the shelf.

When the door closed I jumped, not sure if to go for the food or books first, a whole pile of dirty filthy books waited for me to devour. I dug into the food while a book was balanced on my other hand. The smell of a brand new book soon became my addiction, crisp pages all mine. The man came thirty minutes later to clear the trash away and I asked for coffee. He taught me how to use the machine in Slade’s office. I made myself a large cup, the best coffee I had ever tasted, even better with my book and belly full.

When my shift ended, I found myself walking toward the corner table where Kael sat, his laptop closed now, a book in his hands. I stopped short when I saw the cover. ‘Knot We Cannot Untie.’ That was the book he was holding. I can't believe that Kael would be reading one of Linda Lively’s books. “You read… this?” I said, the surprise evidently in my voice. Kael looked up, one brow raised. “Why? You think I only read racing magazines and bank statements?” I gave a small laugh. “Chill bro. It’s just… not what I was expecting ”

Wren Carter The monotonous sound of beeping kept me company as I swiped the books across the counter. I packed the books and handed them to the customer. The cycle repeated again. It was not stuffy here instead, once in a while some customer would show up wanting to exchange or buy a stack of books. It was almost noon when I decided to take my break. I went over to the cafe side of the store and whipped up a small cup of cortado. I sat near one of the windows as I gazed down the busy street through the shop windows.
