She heard her friends complain about how they weren't exactly participating but were just doing some stupid dodging game of shots. She couldn't blame them but she couldn't answer the questions either. "Why don't we play something else?" Jake suggested trying to revive the spirit of the game. "Something like what? I want to play Karaoke," Kiara pouted. "Oh relax baby girl, karaoke is on its way." Jake patted her hair. Shelly rolled her eyes at them being so dramatic and she didn't seem to feel the effect of her words. The drink was starting to affect her and she saw them looking very blurry. She couldn't focus on them all she just wanted was for the damn karaoke to begin already.

The room fell silent, all eyes turning towards him. “Well, folks,” Jerry began with a mischievous glint in his eye, “it looks like we’ve officially hit rock bottom. But hey, that means there’s no way to go but up, right? Unless, of course, someone hands us a shovel!” He mimicked the action of digging with an imaginary shovel, complete with sound effects. There was a moment of stunned silence. Damien raised an eyebrow, half-expecting an explosion of frustration. But then, one by one, the tension in the room broke as smiles appeared on the faces around the table. A few chuckles escaped, and soon the entire room was laughing.

The seating arrangements were quite tricky but we still ended up at a good seat. And soon, the show started. "Hello everyone, my name is Justin and I'm your comedian for today." He said and the crowd roared with applause. "So something happened to me a week ago that I want to share with you lot." He began. "My girlfriend dog died and I got her another one but she was upset." "I asked her why.." "And she screamed - what would I do with two dead dogs?" Justin said and the crowd roared with laughter. I laughed too. I've always found dark humor funny anyways. I looked to my side where Eve sat but she didn't seem amused at all.

Out of breath, Arabella climbed up to the sixth floor with a huge cake box in hand. She pulled a funny look while standing between Patrick and me. “So you didn’t stand her up to spend the day with me. You just didn’t remember Skye’s birthday?” Furrowing his brows, Patrick answered matter-of-factly, “Why should I remember her birthday anyway?” Arabella turned to me, her expression a mix of emotions.
