Carl wasted no time. He rushed toward the man and took care of his remaining lackeys while Jason and Yolli pinned the three people down. Carl then walked up to the man with his rifle in hand and stomped on his broken hand.

He wasn’t a Shifter, but he wasn’t human. “Rane, let me handle this.” I said, he didn’t want to, but allowed me to shift. “Do all of you talk this much during a war? You want something to brag to your master about. Then shut the fuck up and bring it.” I said, as he came at me fast. Which was his first mistake. I dodged his punch, then landed a blow to his ribcage and gut before punching him in the jaw, which caused him to fall to the ground. I cracked my neck and waited for him to get up. He spit out a tooth and smiled. “Oh, I see you do have a little fight in you after all, so this will be fun after all.” The feral commander said, as he got up off the ground shaking away the dizziness. Noticing that the huge fists had gradually gained the upper hand in the battle, the First Elder started sweating in fear. The Second Elder, on the other hand, expressed his concerns, “First Elder, I’m afraid that the one who is currently in the battle with the Fourth Elder is also the one who killed your disciple, Simon. Is that person from the Nine Armies? But, that’s not possible either! We know all the strong people in the Nine Armies and they were in their fortresses just now!” “Motherf*cker! I must go over and take a good look!” Rage flowed through the First Elder like lava. In a flash, he flew straight to the battlefield.

"I've said before not to force me to kill you." "Hahaha! Kill me? You?" It sounded like the commander had heard the greatest joke in the world. "If you have a death wish, I'll make it come true! Die!"

My head snapped to the side, my vision blurring at the impact of the heavy blow. My bottom lip split open and the metallic taste of blood flooded my mouth. "TWENTY SECONDS!" I mustered up all my strength before slamming my fist into his chin, hitting him with an uppercut. Blood covered his teeth. An angered groan escaped his throat. I acted quickly, slamming my knee into his groin. He wheezed, dropping to the ground, his knees sinking into the mud.

As soon as these words left his mouth, Shane exploded with rage. "You bastard! Who do you think you are? How dare you speak so arrogantly! I am a Sovereign Grandmaster of the Smiths! Since I couldn’t kill you just now, I'll just do it now!" Shane unleashed his full fury. He charged at Frederick like a rampaging lion, closing the distance between them in an instant. "Demon Fist!" Purple flames burst forth from Shane's right arm instantly. It seemed as though the atmosphere itself was burning, transforming into a majestic light that engulfed Frederick.

With the class officer taking the lead, over a dozen pairs of hands pushed me at the same time. I could hear the howling in my ears as I fell, and they were all laughing in relief. When I opened my eyes again, I was alive and sitting in class on the day before our SAT. Winnie Ascott was standing up front, her phone screen projected on the whiteboard. She was presenting an app called the Ultimate Answer Sheet, with an electronic contract beside it. "
