“Tell me… have you finally fucked the Don?” Heat scorched my cheeks. “No. But… we’ve done a lot.” Her laugh rang sharp before dropping low. “So what’s this about a race?” I hesitated, chewing my lip. But the words tumbled out fast, shaky.Matteo racing himself, the millions on the line, the danger coiled in every part of it. Her laughter vanished. “Adriana, those races aren’t games. People crash. I picked up the race immediately. I took the steps two at a time until I was up in Caden's face. “Ten seconds,” he grinned. Waiting for the thirty five men and women I had started this race with to show up.

She knew nothing about racing, but her face paled when she saw how reckless Damon was.

The race continued down the street, till they branched into another street. Alex decided to try and lose the men and started taking turns and turns, the lady following him. Soon after, they lost the men and came to a stop at Alex's house.

I managed to avoid some, but many hit my tires. My friends are really annoying sometimes; they don't know how to play fair. Thankfully, I'm always prepared. In fact, my speed was faster now. All of our cars had significant damage, so the race wasn't as fast-paced anymore, and my tire was close to getting flat. Brian quickly turned on the console and picked a racing game. In this one, we could block each other, and he also added computer opponents so it wouldn’t just be the two of us on the track. We chose the same car to keep things fair. “You can start,” Brian said, handing us the controllers.

Today might be his shot. At the track, the men were still chatting before the start of the race when Connor jogged up. “Mr. Vanderbilt! Are you guys racing today?” Everyone turned toward the voice. Seeing who it was, Sebastian glanced at him indifferently. “Private race. What, you want in?” “Yeah, if it’s cool—can I join?
