When she opened it, intricate illustrations greeted her first. Towering beasts whose bodies appeared woven from living constellations. Children sailing rivers of liquid light. Cities suspended beneath enormous floating crystals. She turned another page. Then another. Every illustration became stranger than the last. "What is this place?" "A world that exists only inside someone's imagination."

Wedding plans. The book is filled with pieces of fabric, dress designs, and photos of decoration ideas. Then I see the little polaroid photo, the corner sticking out the side in the direct center. I flip to the place it holds in the binder. It's a self-taken photo of Kane and Emalin. She is crossing her eyes and Kane is sticking his tongue out. I smile a little at the silly photo. Thursday Elle’s POV Before going into Alpha PataDiamante’s room, Elle saw Corvin haunting the halls and looking like a long-dead apparition, shadows fed by lack of color. His dark eyes peered out from the blackness of shadows, emphasized by the paleness of his skin—a stalking monster lurking in his gloom.

“A necklace? What about it?” I pulled my own pendant from beneath my shirt, letting it dangle beside the illustration. “It’s mine. The exact same one.” Cora’s eyes widened as she looked between the book and my necklace, her mouth forming a perfect ‘O’ of surprise. “Holy shit,” she whispered, leaning in for a closer look. “That’s…that can’t be a coincidence.” “The description page is missing,” I said, showing her the torn edge. “Someone ripped it out.”

Heloise didn't take off her gloves and immediately picked up a brush. "I apologize, but I'd like to use the restroom before starting," Coral said with a smile.
