The only way to walk to her house, the distance from the coffee shop to her house is not that far, maybe only 15 minutes walk. Cara put on her earbuds, putting one hand in her coat pocket and holding an umbrella in the other. She kept humming, that afternoon the streets looked quiet, unlike usual. Maybe it's because it's been raining, the roads are muddy, the weather is also very cool and it's good to stay indoors while resting. Cara was keeping her head down when the two men accidentally bumped into her, they had just exited the convenience store and were walking without looking in front of them.

Push. I feel a shove. I fall, losing my footing. Alex catches me mid-air, wraps me tight, and we crash down the stairs together. Roll. Hit. Scratch. Thud.

Her head snapped ahead as she glanced out of the windshield. Another uncontrollable black car collided with their car. She felt the impact, she was thrown ahead and then back in her seat. It continued. She grabbed the seat to stabilize herself which was a weak effort. A sharp pain shot through her head that nearly pushed her to unconsciousness.

"You're a cripple now, so let's see how you're going to fight me now." Suddenly, his hand tilted, and the entire glass of scalding hot milk poured over my arm. A sharp, burning pain exploded through my nerves as I grunted in pain, and my crutch slipped from my grip. I lost balance and crashed heavily to the floor. A searing agony ripped through my leg, and cold sweat from pain soaked my back. But what broke me more was the music box that tumbled from my arms and clattered onto the floor with a crisp crack.

Johnny growled darkly, "Your money's ours if you die, you wretched beast!" A car was zooming toward me. I saw the driver, and how his eyes had gone wide with panic. His hands gripped the steering wheel as his tires desperately skidded to a halt. Soon, the air was filled with the stench of burning rubber. This fear. This fear was oh-so familiar. It hit me like a truck, and I was rooted to the asphalt, unable to move. Right before the car could crash into me, a black supercar lunged from somewhere behind me and bumped into the incoming car, forcing it back.

Everything happens too fast. Rain’s strong arm wraps around me, his hard body slamming into mine. In one swift movement, he sweeps me off my feet with a force that sends us crashing across the room. The chandelier falls just as I am removed from beneath it, glass shards flying in all directions. My ears rings violently. Goose bumps sprout on my skin at the magnitude of the crash. It was heavy enough to crush me underneath. If Rain had been a second too late, I'd be dead by now, my body shattered into pieces all over the room.
