The Creature
The thought of Alice's erratic movements and secretive tone, and my disappearing parents, made me increasingly uneasy and irritable, "Am I making a mistake by coming here?"
He took a deep breath and his face moved closer to mine, "WHOO!" His round pupils elongated and contracted violently.
"What's Wrong?" I looked at the golden-eyed creature, and he moved his nose and raised his chin toward my cheek.
"Mason?"
It doesn't feel good to be sniffed. The air inside his nose that goes in and out runs through my skin, creating layers of goosebumps. "Mason!"
I imagined my ears wrapped in this soft, cold, sticky object. "Well, now we know you have lizard genes."
