"You know we're not getting any more sleep, right?" I sighed. "Yeah. Okay, munchkin, you can come in." Heidi bounded across the room, flumping onto the bed and bouncing up and down on her knees. "It's Christmas! Time to get up!" "Okay, okay! You want to go see if Santa came?" Heidi nodded her wide-eyed approval, sliding off the bed and racing out of the room. "No opening anything until we come down!" I heaved a sigh and settled back into my pillow, looking into Sarah's lovely green eyes.

Christmas is just as, or even more, grand in the White Castle as it was before. Decorations ranging from Christmas lights hung and lit up, a wreath on all doors, stockings of different colors and names, mini trees per room, poinsettias in full bloom, candles, mistletoes, nutcrackers, you name it. The White Castle looked like Santa had thrown up all over it. Safe to say, Neo was absolutely ecstatic. Back in Arizona, we celebrated Christmas, too, but definitely not as extravagant as this. We just had a small Christmas tree and a few gifts.

Luckily, the subway was just two blocks from the penthouse. The streets were full of frantic last-minute shoppers picking through the already ravaged stores which were closing shortly. Christmas music played through speakers on the streets. Christmas lights glistened and fake snow lined the streets in front of some of the stores. Near the gun store, plastic reindeer, blow up snowman, and an animatronic Jolly old Saint Nick waved and said Ho Ho Ho. It was very fitting tonight of Amber’s attire. Santa called her ass out.

Third POV Penny grinned brightly at her paper rose. She had learned to make it from a Video. It took her some practice to make it but guess it had turned out well. She painted it red and dotted it with tiny white hearts. Santa had finally fulfilled her secret wish. She was going to write a big thank you letter to Santa this Christmas. She was very happy. Once done, she raced outside holding her rose.

‘But we can soon do something about that! Reaching into the drawer, he drew out another condom and smiled as he tore at the foil. ‘Merry Christmas, Carrie. Let’s start celebrating . . .’

Arthur and I join the others in the living room, where a beautiful Christmas tree stands, twinkling with lights and ornaments. We gather around, everyone smiling and chatting, waiting for the clock to strike twelve. There’s a sense of anticipation, and I can feel Arthur’s hand tighten around mine. Finally, the clock strikes midnight, and a cheer goes up. “Merry Christmas!” everyone calls out, exchanging hugs and kisses. Gifts are passed around, and the room fills with laughter and joy. After the gifts are exchanged, we all raise our glasses for a toast. Arthur’s father, a kind man with a twinkle in his eye, leads the toast.

All along the sidewalk, children clapped and waved at the big man, some even shouting their Christmas wishes. Santa looked an awful lot like Sheriff Parks, even with his fake beard and stuffed tummy. The kids didn’t seem to notice. He waved and tossed candy from atop his sleigh, his plastic reindeer fastened up the roof of the pick-up truck towing his magical sled atop a flatbed trailer. It was decorated with fake snow and Christmas trees so that it looked as if Santa was flying over the top of a forest of lighted trees. “Well, that’s that,” Memory said, turning toward him, her hands deep in her pockets. “Until next year.”

The pullover is a perfect fit on chest and arm and only the Let It Snow logo looks in any way out of place. As he moves, James, Richard and Larry unfreeze, donning their joke-wear. All sit, refusing to meet each other's eyes. Finally, Richard says, "Well, at least we know the worst is over." Mitch's mouth twitches and she whips something from her pocket, aiming at him: a small control panel. She squeezes a button and Santa's nose starts flashing in time to the tune of Deck The Halls With Boughs Of Holly... Charlotte and Beth both crease up laughing. Mitch extends the controls again to James and his sweater bleeps out Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer, then Michael's bursts into Frosty The Snowm

But they had no problem adopting the human way of life. The streets were filled with Christmas lights and decor. Every little house on the street had a unique quark. Mr. Humphrey, the local butcher, had hung a deer head on top of the large green sign that said "Humphrey's Butchery." The local grocery store had an inflated Santa who was surrounded by a group of five-year-olds who were playing ring around the rosy with the Santa in the middle. Even the street lights had been decorated with spirals of Christmas lights. It was as if Killian and I were in the middle of Sanata's workshop.

"I asked her if she was coming and she said that she's here." "Okay, thanks," Caden replied, rushing off. "I'll find her!" He searched the crowd, looking at every face, and hoping beyond all hope that he found Jocelyn. Then the parade started, and huge floats passed around the town square. Santa's Workshop, complete with elves who were throwing out candy; Rudolf heading up Santa's sleigh; but the one he liked the most was a manger scene with Santa kneeling before the baby Jesus, placing a gift at His feet. But Caden kept scanning the crowd, looking for Jocelyn.
