Chapter 18: The Picnic I can feel the cool breeze of wind beneath my skin. As I inhale the fresh air, my senses feel refreshed and calm me. How peaceful it is. I want this kind of life, a simple and peaceful environment. All my worries were swept by the cool breeze of wind from the woods.

Dominic POV I stepped outside, and the frigid wind caught me off guard, sending shivers down my spine. The gusts were so strong that my coat flapped wildly, and I had to tug at the end to keep it close to my body. However, the chilly air felt invigorating, and I took a deep breath to fill my lungs with the crisp scent of winter. I looked up at the overcast sky, watching the low clouds move swiftly and the trees lining the entrance of my building swaying back and forth. Despite the cold, I welcomed the refreshing sensation that the weather brought, hoping it would clear my troubled mind and offer me some clarity.

Eira The air was so sharp and cold it felt like it was slicing through my lungs. I had never breathed anything so wonderful. We were outside. There were no walls trying to crush me. No stench of mold. No suffocating darkness. Only the endless blue of the dawn sky stretching above us and the wind weaving through my hair. Zade still held me in his arms beside one of the stone benches in the upper gardens. I buried my face against his neck as my tears soaked into his skin, breathing in the scent of pine and approaching rain as though it were the only source of oxygen left in the world.

The windows were down slightly, and the warm breeze carried the scent of wildflowers and salt air. Then Dante spoke. "Why are you with him?"

Renna As I gaze at Lia, a sense of unease washes over me. A cool breeze sends shivers down my spine, and I can’t shake the feeling that Ethan could emerge from the nearby bushes at any moment. Each strained breath felt heavier than the last, weighed down by the ominous atmosphere surrounding the Whispering Reef. Walking side by side with Aaron, I couldn't shake the prickling sensation on the back of my neck. The trees loomed tall and twisted, their gnarled branches reaching out like skeletal fingers against the bruised sky, casting everything in an unsettling shade of gray.

A strong cold breeze brushed through the verdant trees leaving their branches to sway crazily. The wind blew with a hovering sound intensifying with every passing moment. Skyla didn't stop running no matter how worse the wind was hitting her body and making it difficult for her to breathe. She raised her head to look at the atmosphere. The weather was getting worse and Skyla's mind charged with positive energy was slowly getting drained. Tears rolled down her cheeks from the very thought of not being able to reach the school on time.

Dax POV My lungs are on fire. Each intake of breath seems to make me even more tired, and each exhale is inevitable. On and on and on. Cycle repeat. I can see the sun as it streams through the gaps in the branches, like a liquid fountain traveling through sieve. The leaves above my head lighten in the sunlight, turning a nearly transparent green. This high up, the wind is the unchallenged presence. It skims over the top of the trees, dancing between them as nimbly as a stalk would dance in a stream. It rustles my hair, tickles my face. The wind has always fascinated me because of my love for travel and exploring. The wind makes it everywhere. There is no place it hasn't visited, no land it h

" Chad seethes. Suddenly, the ambiance turns cold, and an eerie wind howls through the window. "They're here," I whisper unemotionally.

She wondered if Jaina was feeling that too. "Now think of what makes you angry," Jaina said. This time, her voice was really close to Adriana's ear. That, in itself, annoyed Adriana. The wind seemed to pick up on her heart which had also begun to race, and it flew around her more violently. Even though she couldn't see, Adriana felt it, and she heard the trees resisting the tug of the current. The branches creaked, and the wind roared as it sped through them, sending leaves flying in all directions.
