After downing the beer, I picked up another piece of meat and stuck it in a saucer of hot sauce before popping it into my mouth. The burning food scalded my tongue, and the spicy heat filled my mouth. Even as my eyes watered from the sensation, I felt so good. It felt great to be alive.
