The match flared to life upon a scratch, its flame reflecting in Damiano's terrified, hopeless gaze. I saw him try to struggle and fight it, but the drugs had reduced him to deadweight. I loosened my fingers. The match fell. Fire erupted instantly, tongues of flame devouring the tiny coffin, the blaze roaring up toward the sky. I bent down and pried the diamond ring off Damiano's finger, the one he had treated like his soul, the one he had proposed with, and the one he hadn't taken off for a single night these past months. I held it up, waved it before his eyes, and tossed it into the flames like yesterday's trash. "Your devotion means as little as this piece of trash to me."

"Absolutely not happening Draco!" Damien hissed as soon as he heard the idea Draco had come up with. "You promised you were going to comply no matter how ridiculous it sounded," Draco fired back at him and Damien scowled. "When you said ridiculous, I had no fucking idea you cooked up something this foolish in that head of yours but then again, what was I expecting? You've always had the ability to say the most outrageous things," Damien said with a frown and Draco sighed.

Then a roar shattered the air. Damien crashed into the barrier from behind, his wolf form slamming into the magical walls like a comet. The entire dome trembled, then cracked and shattered into violet dust. His golden fur blazed with unnatural light as he landed between Draco and me, hackles raised. His voice came through his wolf’s throat, deep and trembling with ancient blood: “If you touch her again, I will tear your curse from your bones.” Draco blinked, then tilted his head in amusement. “Ah. The fallen king arrives.”

Inside, the boutique smelled of smoke and loss. Every delicate stitch of the dress was now a blackened memory. The bell above the door jingled softly. Damon stepped inside, his coat damp from the rain. His eyes immediately locked on the ruined dress Juliette held carefully in her trembling hands. He moved closer, concern and something deeper etched across his face. “Juliette,” he said softly. She swallowed, unable to look away from the destruction. “Who would do this?” he asked; voice low and fierce.

Not until they saw him do something. It was the night when Faye collapsed, that Damion caused. They put them together again in one room, as per advised by Lowell and Fatima. It's not surpassing a minute after they both collapsed when Damion woke up again in his wolf form. He was furious and caused some scenes. Breaking a lot of potions, and decorations, and almost hurting Faye. He stopped when Fatima tranquilized him.

He says and slaps me a couple of times and l wince every time his hand meets my jaw. By the time he was done landing a few punches I was on the floor groaning in pain, once he was done beating the shit out of me, I stood up wiping the blood from my mouth and nose. "I see you have been going out with a girl, what's her name again?" Ron asks one of his friends. "Elicia Rae, her mother works at that hospital Cedars something." Ron's friend the one who had dark blonde hair says and I freeze on spot. "You are wasting money on her, shouldn't you be adding that money on the money you give me?" Ron says and I try to keep my cool so he won't take this whole thing seriously.

Draco's deathly aura when he entered the van indicated he was in one of his worst moods, which was very surprising considering he had been with the lady boss just a few moments ago. Let's face it, Draco had finally been showing human emotions these past few weeks ever since he met Miss Jones. The man was previously like a robot who, apart from his deathly glares and his signature frigid scowl that always adorned his face, showed no emotion that could tell you what he was thinking or feeling inside.

Swept inside the castle, annoyingly parted from Nikolai almost straight away. Maddox silently stays with me, always a few paces behind. Heavy-set guards lead us into a spacious, firelit parlour. Dawn is breaking through the huge sash windows, lined by purple velvet curtains, signalling the end of one of the worst nights in our race’s history. Freya has changed into black mourning, her brown curls still wild but her figure hidden beneath a frumpy long black shift. Sat next to her is Zena, Cillian’s date.

“Please, just don’t hurt me.” Damian released her roughly, and she stumbled back onto the bed. He stood over her, his expression filled with disgust. “I’m going to make you pay for what you’ve done,” he said coldly. “Every tear Aurora cried, every ounce of pain she felt that’s what you’re going to feel now.”

The Queen turned to the King, her mouth opening to argue, but his raised hand silenced her. Damien’s shadow fell over me as he crouched slightly, his voice low enough for only me to hear. “Don’t look, little flame,” he murmured, the words gentle despite the tension in his tone. “You don’t need to see this.” The trapdoors fell with a sickening thud. My father, my mother, my brother—gone. A scream tore from my throat, raw and uncontrollable. I collapsed to the ground, my legs giving out beneath me. I didn’t need to see it; the sound alone was enough to shatter what was left of my heart.
