And then she danced.
It started with water—fluid, graceful spins, arms arcing like river currents. The lanterns above her flickered as if responding, light bending around her body. Then earth—low, grounded stomps that made the ground tremble just enough to ripple through the crowd. Wind followed—quick turns, hair whipping, invisible gusts lifting the hem of her dress. Fire last—small trails of flame spiraled from her fingertips, harmless, beautiful, curling around her like living ribbons.
I couldn’t breathe.
