Dani Long Way Down Novels & Stories

When my mom ran in, I didn't have the strength to move anymore. She saw me lying on the floor, my wrist soaked in blood. She completely panicked. "Kevin!" She lunged forward and scooped me up. Her hands were shaking as she pressed down on my wound. Her voice trembled. "Stay awake! Look at me! Open your eyes!" But I couldn't hear her anymore. My hearing aid had fallen out when I fell. I could see her lips moving. I could see the color draining from her face. And in that moment, I felt so tired. More tired than on any single day in the last three years.

All because I ran one minute over in the bathroom, the company took away my $200,000 project bonus. My own boss criticized me in front of everyone, saying I was loafing on company time. Saying I had no respect for the new rule. So he docked my $200,000 project bonus to make an example of me. And in the same stroke, he wiped out my shot at the promotion entirely. I handed in my resignation on the spot. The next day, the CEO of the whole group came to me himself and begged me not to go.

"I want this done in three days. Dead men don't get in the way." Delia froze mid-step. Rigid. Silent. Her lips quivered, but not a word came out. Then her phone buzzed. A message from Danny, the PI. [William Wright is dead.]

"Then crawl around and look for it. Ryan doesn't care about some cheap old thing anyway. You're the only one acting like it's a treasure." I ignored the pain and rushed into the crowd, terrified that one more second would be enough for someone to step on it and break it. Behind me, Samantha laughed louder. "Caleb, you look like a dog!" she called out. "You'd better find it fast. We're heading somewhere else for round two soon." I searched through the packed dance floor for almost twenty minutes but found nothing. All I got were a few careless kicks from strangers pushing past me. By the time I finally gave up, Samantha was already gone.

Damien said to her and Chloe started rolling up an invincible sleeve. "Why I oughta..." "...guys!" I yelled and everyone was quiet except Danielle who was laughing. "Are they always like this?" She asked me. "Yes" I sighed and then poured myself water. Now Damien can relax. He didn't think I was actually going to drink did he? "Well I wished I brought my camera. That show was funny and you can't get something that genuine in movie houses" Danielle joked.

"What if I want a sleepless night, huh?" "I know more pleasant methods to get you through it. But first... you should drink some strong coffee and take a long shower to wash away this stench of alcohol." Wĕi Qí asserted. "You..." William tried to hit him, but the poor balance caused by his state landed him straight with his face on the young man's chest. Despite the numbness of his senses, the solidity of the pecs he had landed on did not go unnoticed. The scent of new leather and sandalwood gave him a sense of vertigo.

He scoffs before walking off as if no one is there beside his fellow Shade member. After the quiet passing of the alive creature patrolling, Salavanta resumes unlocking the rest of the concealments. She flips open the trap door and then uses those dark eyes to loom down the ladder. Though there is nothing she can make out other than the ladder itself and the dirt surface that leads to a dungeon. Muffle moans escape the air which sends dread down both the captain’s spine and her other three crewmates. Lard looks at the three. “Good luck.” They all nod in agreement and slide down the ladder. First, it was the redhead that goes first followed by Romera, and then finally the bigger man Garth. La

There were so many black cars, it was hard to find hers. He saw two men in black overalls, one was laying on the ground with his torso under a car while the other looked like he was guarding the first one. Calvin was stunned at the sight. They were trying to tamper with someone’s car. No, not just someone’s car but with Blair’s car! “Did you do it?” the taller guy asked when the other one came out from under the car. “Almost, I just need to disable few more cables, then we are all done.” The other answered fanning himself with his hand.

My Lifelong Crush Claire has always had a crush on Rawls. She always thought he was handsome but never looked at him like anything other than her best friend’s dad. That changed when she turned sixteen years old. He did not have the dad bod and did not (at least most of the time) make the corny dad jokes. He worked out all of the time, so he was in good shape. He was also so handsome, with some gray at the temples in his black hair. She always wondered why he never got remarried. After his wife, Fiona, died he spent his time raising Evie. He has not been celibate for the last nineteen years. He had his share of women over the years. There were not many weekends that he slept alone.

"Be honest with me. Even though I drugged you that time, you enjoyed it, didn't you? You should be thanking me. Someone with your looks would never have had the chance to entertain over ten men in one night." After saying that, Lilyanne leaned into Jimmy's arms, his hands squeezing her bottoms. They both admired the photo as if it were a piece of fine art. The flash of the camera, a stark reminder of that horrific night at the bar, sent a tremor of fear through me. Yet, the fury that surged within me, a resilient force, gave me the strength to fight back despite the agony. As Jimmy and Lilyanne engaged in their revolting display, his foot shifted slightly. I seized the moment, lunging forwar
