Chapter 26 “So, how long exactly have you and Dylan been together?” I pursed my lips and subtly looked away. Danielle had messaged me saying she’d drop by, and I assumed she was coming for the bags. She had a recent photo of Macy and her at the zoo. My heartfelt weird as I watched them smile at the camera as if they were always best friends. I scrolled down further, and there weren't any pictures of us, it seemed that she and Duncan were perhaps dating, and suddenly it didn't matter that I was hurt anymore . . . Danielle was. . . Terrible. She was going down a really bad path and I... I really don't think that I could stop her.

“Then I guess I should come with you to see him; after all, he's my father-in-law now.” Danielle's eyeballs almost popped out of their sockets as she listened to Jake. “You can't come with me now,“ she hurriedly said. “Look, Mr. Carter, my parents must not find out I got married for the time being, so please, I want you to keep our marriage a secret,” she pleaded. "Mhm,” he simply replied. After classes, Danielle parted ways with her best friend and roommate, Scarlett, and headed to the hospital to check up on her father's condition.

I already knew who she was referring to. “Jason Campbell, the CEO of Campbell Group,” she added. “He is engaged to Laura Martinez. There are reports you were involved with him while they were still together.” I let the pause hang in the air before I spoke. Not because I was caught off guard — I just wanted to make sure she heard me clearly.

" Right then, Lucy came out of the restroom and heard what Danielle had just said. Furious, she marched over and confronted them. "Who says Wy will never be able to own one? I'm buying the car right now and giving it straight to him!" She walked up to me, looped her arm through mine, pointed at Danielle, and asked, "Wy, is this woman the ex-girlfriend who betrayed you?" Before I could nod, however, Danielle lunged forward and roared at me. "Wyatt Pollock, you piece of trash! We just broke up yesterday, and you've already latched yourself to someone wealthy? Or were you two already hooking up behind my back?"

I agreed, following her to the dining room, there I found Rick sitting at the head of the table. "Honey, look who I invited!" she said in a cheery voice and he sent a nod my way whereas I ignored him. Taking a seat furthest away from him, I crossed my arms over the table and glared at him. "I see," he responded, crossing his arms over his chest. "Where's Daniels?" he asked mockingly and I rolled my eyes. "Where he is," I responded. "I heard about your breakup, I saw it all over the tabloids. You looked pretty broken up," she said looking sorry and I only shrugged. "He was too old for you anyway," she said in a sorry way and I sighed smiling at her.

Even though she is not in any relationship right now, she is still more knowledgeable in this relationship thing than her. But Danielle have been quite distracted these days. Each time she brought up Jayden's topic with her friend, she somehow manages to change the subject. Janet just wanted to know what kind of man he really is. After all, Danielle said their fathers are friends. Thinking about how she have to give Jayden an answer by the end of the day, she called Danielle again. "Hello Jay Jay" "Hi Dee, what's up?" "Nothing much. I am just reading a fashion magazine while snacking on peanuts"
