Sheriff Hardin slowly removed his jacket and gave it to Dylan who hung it on the coat rack behind the door. “It’s fine sir….My name is Maddy pierce.” She introduced herself; Dylan took a stand by his dad’s desk so he could monitor her reaction. He is already acting like his dad’s personal bodyguard, and his sense are quick enough to know when the energy is quite supernatural Maddy seemed pretty tensed up and scared, she was finding it difficult to talk and breathe at the same time. She kept looking around and out of the window stylishly in fear as she played nervously with her fingers.

Drake POV After an uncomfortable night on the couch, Maddie and I were up early and ready to go visit her family at the Red Moon Pack. Maddie was somewhat somber today, and I could tell she was still put out by our discussion from the night before. Her conversation with me had been limited since that chat and she was reluctant to hold my hand today. I didn’t let go of her hand, she simply made little effort to reciprocate the touch.

Maddie managed to ask the one important question that I tried to let out but couldn’t for the fear of letting my friends know that this news affected me to the maximum. “We saw Damon with her. She cornered him after dinner in the hallway to his room. She literally almost pounced on him. God. She must be starving for some action.” Raven giggled uncontrollably as Hailey joined in with her saw-like laughter. At this point my heart was palpitating vigorously against its ribcage. From the corner of my eye, I saw Maddie give me a suspicious look like she knew exactly what was going on in my mind and body.

She announces. I throw her a weird look. I recall that Phil is Maddie’s mate, so what’s all this excitement about me meeting up with him? What were my besties scheming? Anna rushes to my side, grabs my hands, and starts to pull me towards the door. I try to resist, but Maddie joins her. They succeed in pulling me outside the house, and stuffing me inside Phil’s red Rolls-Royce Phantom. All the while, I’m confused about what’s happening. I let out a sigh. I’ll get to find out eventually.

the teen muttered. The raven-haired teen looked over to the far left and saw buff teens in school jackets sitting on the tables while talking over each other. "I see," Shawn questionably rose a brow. "You can sit here," Scarlett sighed. "Thanks so much. I'm Maddie by the way," said the maroon frizzy-haired girl, who wore dark red prescription glasses and a matching turtleneck. Her skin was heavily tainted with freckles but they made Maddie look adorable—albeit her geeky ambiance. "This is Dorian and Zack. We're the geeks of the school."

Michelle starts comforting her, “shhh, it’s okay honey. It’s over now. It’s over. You’re safe” Suddenly Danny is standing right next to me, staring solemnly at the pair. Liam links me, “Savannah is Danny’s mate. She’s not 18 yet. She doesn’t know. Obviously none of us knew these two knew each other… this is… not sure what this is”. I gently walk over to the two girls. “Hey Michelle, do you mind if I meet this young woman?”.

Unfortunately, as much as my mother pretended to listen to my decision on the matter, I knew she wouldn’t admit defeat so easily. As a hand intertwined into mine, the familiar tingles and fresh scent of vanilla told me exactly who was beside me. “We can continue to discuss this later. We need to go see Danny.” Nate rolled his eyes as he said the faerie’s name, well… chosen name, anyway. My mother nodded as Maddie joined our side. “I’m coming. If my daughter is going on a suicide mission, I want to know everything. Plus, I’d like to meet this Danny.” She giggled as she watched Nate roll his eyes.
