What was strange to her was, the strange guy was her boss and she was in love with him. On a dark and lonely night, a sudden bright light illuminates in the middle of the East road, after flickering a couple of times. And then, everything went dark again. Only the heavy breathing sound of the newly birthed Troian monsters could be heard as they voraciously searched for their preys. They sniffed about in the dead of the night, with their eyes as sharp as that of an owl.

No matter what came up, Danny would have shirked it to stay here and keep watch. Squinting his foggy mind toward the window, he was surprised to find faded sunlight seeping into a slender crack in the curtains. Dusk has a different shade of grey than dawn—bluer, less golden. Was it late afternoon the next day? For them to have moved him from the chair to the couch without him waking up was indication enough that he must have been really out of it. But sleeping for this long? It was unheard of. His wolf was nocturnal. Day sleeping is preferred. Sometimes he forgot that because for twelve years of his life, he hadn’t been that way.

I only nodded in response, unable to breath a word. "Beta Daniel let's go into my office and talk further." He insisted and left me all alone in the room for a few seconds before the friendly doctor came bustling in with a smile on her face and plate of food in her hands. My stomach grumbled loudly at the sight of food. I hadn't realised I was absolutely starving. "Luna, I hope you are satisfied with this selection of sandwiches. You need your energy." I wasn't sure how I felt about being called Luna but I guess it was something that I was going to get used to eventually.

The city below was quiet, but Damian never trusted quiet. He prowled the penthouse balcony like a predator pacing his territory, rain-slicked hair plastered to his forehead. The storm had passed, leaving streets that gleamed under the weak moonlight, reflecting the chaos smoldering beneath the surface. His eyes narrowed at every shadow, every flicker of movement. One wrong step, one miscalculation, and the Phantom could strike again. And this time… he wouldn’t be so lenient.

He picked up his phone and spoke in a chilling monotone. “Target in sight. We’ll be able to avenge the Second Commander soon.” From the other end, Black Shark—Raze—replied, “Good. Make sure Sebastian and the others are wiped off the face of the earth.” The call ended. The man, Phantom, toyed with a small detonator in his hand. He could trigger it at any moment—but he was waiting for the perfect timing. Meanwhile, James and Tyler were circling behind the building, searching for an entry point. But the structure was exposed and unstable. Any direct approach risked being spotted by Megan, which could end in disaster.

“And find out who wants me to see both.” Dante exhaled sharply through the phone. “I’ll get on it, but if this is what I think it is… you’re definitely not going to like the answer.” The line went dead. Dmitri sat there for a moment, the quiet pressing in, the twin death reports still glowing on his laptop screen. His mind raced through every possibility—none of them good. Somewhere in this city, someone was playing with ghosts. And he had the sinking feeling Damien wasn’t the only one.

“Shut up, pup. I need to finish what I’m saying before they get back from the store.” Bryant tried to say something, but Garrett, Will, and Bethany growled low in warning to him. He crossed his arms and pouted. “Thank you. What the Vasili didn’t realize when he ordered me to be taken was just how much of an enemy he was taking into his home. I know Ford and Rao.” The wolves gasped. “I am known to hunters and trackers as ‘The Phantom’. I hunt them. I’m gathering information, then I’m leaving and I’m taking all of you with me. With luck, we’ll take the bulk of his succubae, too. Any questions so far?” Madison asked.
