I open it and hold one of the little stars between my fingers. “It's beautiful.” I fawn Caspian takes it from me before I can drop it. “You're supposed to be resting.” he reminds me. “I was standing.” I reply with a pout. Talk about being treated like a porcelain dish. “Standing is not considered resting.” He reminds me sternly. I roll my eyes but still let him carry the box.

“Just shut up and dance.” “Feisty. I like it.” He chuckles, clearly into it. His hands find my waist, pulling me close as we start moving to the music. And when I say moving, I mean we’re practically grinding. The chemistry is insane, and I can feel his breath on my ear when he leans in. “Danny,” he says. I furrow my brows. “What?” The music’s so loud I can barely hear him. “My name,” he says, grinning. “It’s Danny.”

The face that greets me is not the one I was hoping to see. "Hello, sweetie pie," Danny says, smiling. But I can tell it's fake, even though the only light source is the moon. Danny is dark-skinned. His black hair is styled in a low cut, and he has a beard. The Dolce & Gabbana suit he's wearing does little to hide his muscles. I'd be lying if I said he wasn't ripped. To sum it up, Danny is a gorgeous man, but even with all his handsomeness, he is the worst romantic partner I have ever met-except Jacob if I'm including that horrible human being in the running, too.

She reached for a chip and dunked it nearly all the way into the guacamole. He waited, watching as she bit, for the explosion of happiness he knew was coming.

Dash said in Fawn's defense. "Don't give me that crap." Danny said. He glared at Fawn. He opened his mouth to say something but Dash beat him to it. "Come on, Fawn. You know he's better looking than me." Now Dash was defending Danny. Wilson shook his head. He had a very good idea where this was going. Danny didn't. "Haha! I'm glad you know." He beamed. Fawn quickly shut him up. "Shut up! That he said so doesn't make it true."

I didn't take part in the elite warrior assessment trials usually, so I didn't want to make it seem suspicious. "Great, okay. I'm going to go ahead and meet Max and Anthony." Danny said, standing with his coffee cup in his hand. "See you down there, baby girl." he added as he placed a kiss on her temple, and I had to remind Jagger he was her dad as I shoved him down. His lip was bleeding, and his face was pale with a terror he had spent years inflicting on others.
