His movements were fluid, calculated, but the number of infected kept multiplying.
“Ethan, we need to move!” I yelled, my voice rising above the chaos, but he was already fighting, taking care of the zombies that came too close.
But then it happened. The one thing we hadn’t accounted for. A zombie lunged at him from behind, and before he could react, its teeth sank into his shoulder.
“No!” I screamed, my heart lurching as I watched him falter. Blood began to pour from the wound, and I could see the strain on his face, the shock that hit him as the infection began to take hold.
