Blake's sobs soon followed at the sight of nothingness, darkness and that one hole on the ceiling. "L-luca, p-please. Get me o-out of here, p-please." Sobbed Blake in despair, his lips quivering in fear. The shivers didn't stop to crawl on his skin, as the thought of not getting out there forever started to eat his soul. He crawled backwards until a cold wall hit his back, as the sound of chains echoed around the dark room.

Imagine, you get home today and witness the death of your husband and children right in front of you but your body couldn't move an inch to protect them. You turn around and your house, your happy comfort zone isn't there too. You turn to the other side and find nothing. Darkness , thick cruel and never ending darkness slowly covers you up. You try to think and then you realise . . . you can't think anything. Your mind is blank , it feels like a foreign place. Imagine being alienated in your own mind. What are you going to do ? Where will you go ? You don't know. Why ? Because you're scared of those

I had called him mad in the past, and perhaps I knew some part of him was unhinged, but not like this. He had let the white bull in, had let true Darkness in. I wondered why I hadn’t sensed it or felt that crippling feeling of dread when he was near. He wasn’t Camille, that was for sure. A shiver ran down my spine as I wondered what Darkness might do to someone as powerful as Dain. I’m weak even as I write this, and though I want to burn this book and destroy it’s remains, I must document my failure. I thought I could finish what I had started all those years ago, but I had miscalculated.

I started marching in the direction of my apartment. There was no need for silly imaginary dark smoking figures and people with funny eyes or funny voices that only I saw. I was the problem. My fear of the dark was a problem, too. I was so chalked full of problems I should just end it all.

I pressed the hallway button, and a door clicked open, the sound sharp in the quiet. I was suddenly dragged inside.

Or maybe it was the doing of the hidden being in the shadows. In his groggy state, Nathaniel saw the flash of the pointed canines and the watery gleeful sparkle of evil eyes. He could feel its hunger, projected from the black mind. He could almost see its jaws dripping, yearning to lap up the gore like a starving feline. 'You...won't let me die...' Nathaniel thought, his eyes closing but he found no peace. 'You...are taunting...' A soft laugh met him as darkness fell, plunging him into dreams that Dali couldn't have painted better.

What is better than sleep to remove all the bad thoughts? I blow out all the candles except one and then lay on my bed to sleep. Complete darkness scares me. I hate being in the dark, that's why I always leave one candle. I hope deep sleep soon engulfs me so that I am away from this world at least for some time. I can be free from this life. The faintest hint of something foul lingered in the air, a disquieting reminder of the tragedies that had taken root here. Esmeralda’s flashlight flickered intermittently, revealing glimpses of long-forgotten furniture, dust-covered and distorted, casting monstrous shapes on the walls. Dryzza’s heart pounded in her chest, her mind racing with memories of the stories she’d heard—the tales of Zachary’s descent into madness, all beginning in this cursed place.

A pale streak of moonlight illuminates a withering tree. It’s said that the Wildland’s beauty is sublime, but now the uncaring hands of darkness linger through these woods. Even with the lively leaves on the trees and beautiful shades of brown that make up the trunks, something is off. Bracts descend from the trees, but before the cotyledons hit the forest grounds, the pads turn into nothing, molding away out of existence. Some of the bark from the tree trunks wavier from the cold winds. A piece blows off, and the husk falls on the bright teal grass. The woodchip wilts away, and the dirty brown plank remnants flow in the air like smoke from burning bodies. This haunting land smells like rott
