I moved so close that Darwin took a step toward us by reflex, and I motioned for him to stop. “I don’t need gods.” “Of course not,” Talus said with gentle condescension. “You just want a weapon capable of killing them.”

Talon has already almost ended the life of that wolf. “Don’t,” I stop Cormac. “You are no match for Talon. The only one who can fight him is Arkon or….” “I’m not fighting him alone. Watch, Kael,” Cormac cocks his head in the direction of Talon. Alpha Thane is already in a face-out with Talon, trying to save his Beta. “Go!” I howl at Cormac and he immediately attacks Talon from behind. The multitude surrounding Arkon has made way as my warriors fight them off. Most of them are just average pack members with no fighting skills.

My head is level with his. “Listen I’m going to help you shift back, but first you need to come over here,” he says. My body moves forward but instead of presenting my neck to Daerius like I wanted, Talon has me knocking Daerius into the ring. I wince as he tumbles down the side, and lands on his face. He coughs and slowly picks himself up. “Okay that was unexpected,” he wheezes, pressing his hand to his chest. He walks closer and my tail lifts, ready to strike him with the barb.

The silence around them was deafening as they all thought about the impossible occurrence before them. Talon however had enough. The questions swarming his mind about this girl needed to be answered. He gently let her go and stood back up exchanging looks with the other men. Marcos is his master but he and Talon have more of a friendship type relationship meaning Talon is one of the only people who can question him without having his throat ripped out.

A brief silence hung in the air, the weight of the revelation sinking in. Talon's anger began to yield to a mix of emotions—relief, closure, and a renewed sense of purpose. "Really? I’m here to escort you the rest of the way.” Furrowing her brows, she looked at Rey and back to Talon, puzzled. “We can’t take the car?”

Talia was surprised by the action but knowing he might be her new owner she looked at the ground beneath her. " Hello beautiful. My name is Damien. " he said with a friendly smile. Talia just replied with a simple hello not knowing if she was needed to state her name or if the guy already knew it. Through the years her aunt has been able to crush the strong headed girl she once was. If it were back then she'd definitely have not accepted to be pushed around.
