I wrapped my free hand in the satin fabric of the dress, trying my best to control my anxiety as Alpha Kaia opened the book that lay before her on the altar. It was the Book of the Moon, the sacred writings that the Goddess had left for us. I had never seen it with my own eyes and, Holy Moon, just thinking that the Alpha herself was about to perform that ceremony made me tremble.

As Maribel finished, Ayla nodded to herself, biting her lower lip.

I knew I needed to get my shit together, but fuck, it was hard. I’d done some digging on her and found out some interesting information. She was the daughter of Claudis Ventrel of the Ventrel coven.
