Onyx waved his hand and slipped it inside his pocket. "You f*ucking w*hore!" Owen yelled, and Onyx's head shot back at him. Onyx's eyes darkened as he trembled with wrath. "Say that again! I dare you!" His chest shuddered with wrath as he growled. Not a single word came out of Owen's mouth as he started trembling in fear starting into Onyx's haunting eyes. Ophelia was shocked beyond words at Onyx's reaction and all she could do was let Onyx drag her to the elevator. Ophelia didn't realize she was staring at Onyx until he looked down at her and she cleared her throat. She took a step away from his arm, and his grip on her waist loosened.

She was fresh out of the shower, her hair damp, wearing a clean, oversized gown. The moment her gaze locked onto me, Onyx didn't even hesitate. The almighty, terrifying beast who had butchered a lycan two nights ago instantly tucked his tail between his legs and retreated so deep into the back of my skull he practically vanished into another dimension. "I'm not here," Onyx whispered weakly from the darkness. "I don't know you. You are on your own." "You cowardly bastard," I cursed at him in my mind. But my beast's betrayal was the least of my problems.

I had unknowingly closed my eyes. But when I opened them, the two alphas were face to face. He was foaming at the mouth as he banged against the glass, ramming it with his whole body as it shook. Dr. Dawson smirked. He taped the glass with a mocking expression. As the specimen had nothing he could think of doing for more intimidation. He started to pace back and forth, staring Dr. Dawson down, growling at him and baring his teeth.

I turned to see that a large, golden orb had begun to ascend from behind the treeline. The moon had begun to rise in its full glory, a perfect yellow disc hanging in the inky black sky. All around us, wolves began to respond to its call. My wolf, who had been waking slowly as the effects of the contraceptive had begun to wear off, suddenly began to stir. “Mate,” Onyx whispered. “Our mate is right here.” Panic gripped me. I tried to shove her down, but it was no use. The contraceptive was wearing off, and without the second dose I’d promised the doctor and Damon I wouldn’t take, Onyx was awakening with a vengeance now that the moon was rising.

I saw his claws sprouting out as he confronted the creature, “What are you?! Who are you and what do you want?!!” There was no answer, instead it transformed. My eyes widened at the spectacularly frightening sight, bones retracting, the white fur dissipating back into its pores only to reveal….to reveal…to reveal… A beautiful man. Naked in all his glory. I let out another gasp. Father screeched this time, “Drink the Alpha’s blood Anora!!” I couldn’t move, not with him walking towards the front of the temple. It was like a magnet, whatever I was feeling, wanting to pull me towards him.
