One Night with the Hybrid King

One Night with the Hybrid King

My expression leaves no room for doubt; there is no longer any margin for error. With slow, deliberate movements, I reach into my pocket and pull out a small vial. The glass glints under the dim light of the room, and inside, the dark liquid pulses with a sinister energy, as though eager to fulfill its deadly purpose. The remainder of the Nightshade Ichor—retrieved from the depths of the castle’s secret vaults.

Moon's Betrayal

Moon's Betrayal

he said with a smirk as if he just won. I laughed at his words because he just fell into my trap and admitted what he did. Nightshade was the Gaisreen equivalent to wolfsbane. As such, its use was highly prohibited and punishable by absolute death. That meant that every life would be stripped away before he was killed for his offense. He just admitted to it in the presence of four Gaisreen. “It’s a great thing that you were always an absolute idiot. You just admitted to a crime punishable by absolute death,” I pointed out with a smirk of my own.

Night of shades

Night of shades

“That sounds like you want to . . . I don’t know. Consume me.” The Thing’s eyes lit with a dark fire. “Yes. It is something like that. But don’t worry, my precious one. It will be painless.” His hands—his terrible clawed hands—reached for her and she closed her fingers into fists and thought, I must do something. Magic, do something! Four shots rang out. Hendricks’s face froze. His mouth opened and blood spilled over his chin and then he crumpled to the ground. “Lauren!”

Hellblades

“And if you stall me, they’ll be the least of your problems.” “Threats already?” she chuckled, but it was dry. “I had almost forgotten your charm.” She turned, reaching for the shelves that climbed the wall behind her. Her fingers, gnarled but steady, skimmed over jars and tins, bottles sealed with wax, bundles of herbs dried to dust. “Nightshade it is” she said, pulling down a black-glass jar. “One wrong breath and it paralyzes the lungs. One pinch too much, and the heart stops cold. You’re welcome”

He Is Mine

He Is Mine

He was laughing, laughing hard with one of his friends, moving like a man who had absolutely nothing wrong with him. “You have got to be kidding me,” I whispered, clenching my fists. All that planning, all that research… and the most I had done was give him a two second stomachache. **** I slammed the door to my room later, pacing the floor like I was a caged animal. “How the fuck!?” I yelled, grabbing my laptop and pulling up every single article I had saved. Nightshade is lethal to werewolves in sufficient quantity. Even a small dose will induce weakness. Over and over, the same claim.

Forever in the Past and Forever in the Future

Forever in the Past and Forever in the Future

Lady Camille placed her hand over Delilah’s, comforting her daughter. “I think you skipped over what the potion is made out of, Delilah. What the Hell kind of potion are we talking about?” I asked. “Deadly Nightshade.” Her voice was almost indiscernible. “The antidote will kick start her heart to make it beat again.” “You’ve got to be fucking kidding me.” Lenora said, pushing away from the table and standing up, making Delilah cower. “Lady Camille, Delilah, will you excuse us for a moment.” I bowed and pulled Lenora away from the table. After about half an hour of convincing, she finally reluctantly agreed.

I just finished Book 2 and it was wonderful! So many emotions to work through and so devastated by the death of a beloved character T-T (no direct Spoiler). So excited to read the next book in the Blood River Universe AND Book 3 of Kas and Bronx’s story. <3

I started mindlessly, thinking it was cute. But it turns out to be WAAAAY better than that. The story is well written, the plot is riveting, and the characters are so genuinely full of life, it is a bliss to read through. This masterpiece has everything of a best-seller! ...️

Nightshade

Nightshade

I woke to find Margaret's pendant still fastened around my neck and Maya's bracelet resting on my wrist. Only 2 days until the next full moon and then my fate will be sealed. Weak and gray light seeped into my small basement window, matching my low spirits exactly. I hadn't really been able to rest as my night was plagued with nightmares. Nightmares about standing in the ceremonial circle as I became the laughing stock of the pack. Nightmares about my transformation, but instead of being a wolf, I find myself some twisted and deformed creature, Alpha Magnus's eyes cold and piercing as he passes judgment.

Horror Nights

Horror Nights

"But if I roll over, the blanket will shift. There will be an opening. Just for a second. And that's all you need." I say nothing. Because he is right. "I've seen you before," he continues, his voice steady, almost bored. "On the twelfth night. On the twenty-third night. You always come closer when I have the nightmare. You always whisper my name. You always say you want to help. But you don't. You want me to uncover myself so you can take me." The nightmare is gone from his eyes. He was never drowning. He was never suffocating. He was pretending.

The Nightmare

The Nightmare

he taunted as he began to unzip his pants. The realization that this was about what was about to happen sank into my bones and I shivered in horror. I shut my eyes and took a deep breath. I might not be able to stop this but I was sure not going to give up. I looked deep in his eyes and screamed bloody murder. As I screamed I felt a warmth roll over me and a bright light shot everywhere. Nick froze and then blood began to pour from his ears and nose.

Really engaging story with an interesting take on the usual werewolf themes - hope you are able to update soon though as I’m dying to know what happens next! It’s been a while since the last one, hope everything is ok with you

Great book. Well paced, intriguing characters with very solid world building. My one qualm is that there are, at times, too many characters. Often there are a lot of names being thrown around and its hard to tell who's who.

Knight Of Your Nightmare

Knight Of Your Nightmare

"Crazy?" Xanti asked. He wouldn't deny that he was also terrified when the conversation was about a ghost. "You can see his behaviors earlier, when he's speaking his eyes looking around and suddenly smile and when you entered I noticed him screaming outside," said Nash even though he was terrified. "What is he shouting?" They all asked. The three stopped shouting and started listening to them.. "My child....give my daughter back....Where is my daughter Casey?! Wait who is Casey hahahaha." They stopped when Nash suddenly did what the old man did earlier.
