Xithara's POV The sharp kick to my side caused a gasp to escape my mouth as blood spilled out of my mouth in violent coughs. The whip to my back reawakened my already dulling senses. "Please……please just let me speak to the Alpha one last time, I'm begging you please." I pleaded weakly, somehow gathering enough strength to say the words as I laid limp on the cold and dirty floor of the dungeon, bleeding profusely. A kick to the side of my head snapped my neck sideways, causing another wave of pain to hit me, one that made me scream out even though I had no strength left.

And as I curl up on my bed writhing in pain, I always wonder why I’m even worried about the dream coming true. Why should I care about the end of the world or Xavier dying when neither he nor this world has ever given me anything good to hold onto? Why should I care when it feels like Xavier and the universe itself are trying to drag me into an early grave? The sound of my bedroom door opening interrupts my spiraling thoughts and I slowly lift my head only to freeze in shock at the sight of Sophie, my former best friend. We have barely spoken since she turned eighteen and discovered that her mate was Jayden, Xavier’s best friend and the Beta of the pack.

The shadow warriors and the elders all wondered why a dark angel was weeping and wailing over the death of a lycan. It struck them motionless. Xavier couldn't stop staring at his partner that he was paired with, weeping over the death of the beast. He remembered her words about being mated to the Supreme Alpha Qinn and he began to ponder if she had been saying the truth. Stunned into silence by the strange scene before their eyes, no one noticed Bazaar creep up behind Layla and stabbed a dagger into her side.

I can't let the words of Melissa sway me at this moment. My pack was going fine before her arrival, and it'll continue to do fine even as she's here. With that thought in mind, I shifted into my big black wolf and stormed into the woods to join my men. Good thing I have my silver dagger tire around my waist. ~ Getting to the scene, I noticed a hundred or more of the vampires trooping in on my men. “What the fuck is going on here?” “Alpha Xavier, you're here,” Drake asked, breathing heavily and looking all bloodied.

Xavier still wouldn't take chances and lose the love of his life again in the hands of the same person. The deadly conflict between Xavier and Aldon began when Aldon killed his first love. She was the only woman who Xavier had eyes for but Aldon sacrificed her for his selfish reasons.

They took down all the rogues in about five minutes. “Brother, something isn’t right, this was too easy”, Xavier mind linked Xander.

Vampires? They're vampires. He and Alpha Xavier were talking but I couldn't make out anything. One minute they were talking and the next they ran at each other with the speed of light. I watched as Alpha Xavier growled and shifted into his pitch-black wolf. I cried as I watched them tear each other. Alpha Xavier was slashing anyone in his path. He was on a rampage. I closed my eyes unable to watch this blood bath. Suddenly, a loud howl reverberated in the sky. There was so much pain and anguish in it. I open my eyes and a sob escaped my mouth.

Gosh this wolf is giving me more problem than these wolves. I close my eyes suddenly feeling some movement then something hard. "Sleep on the bed, I'll be alright" Adrian's voice drifted through me smacking me to wonder if what he said was really true. By lunch the next day Lydia's voice drifted through the small ear ring behind my ear then shortly later we were able to find Xander but with the group I least expected to find. The Dalehale pack, also a group of assassins. The thing is Dalehale are jealous with my pack and quite obsessed with us and when they heard about me, they became even more obsessed. They are as annoying as little ants biting your skin in the cell we were put.
