I stand. I turn away from the grave. Serafina is still waiting at the edge of the grove, her hand now empty at her side, her eyes on my face. "Walk back with me," I say. She falls into step beside me without a word. We cross the grove together, past the olive trees and the dry earth and the place where the bullet came from an hour ago, and we walk through the gate into the courtyard where three capos are dead on the stone

My eyes widened when I saw five vampires with black eyes. Dervy. They are outside the shield and trying to break the shield with their dark magic. "Let the hunting begin," Adrian said happily then grinned and quickly ran towards the Dervy group. Their father also followed him.

"I would never let you die." Hope whispered to me. Then she let go of me and stood beside me with a corner smile, confident, she made a simple motion with her hand and that reddish shape spread further, like wings, but not just any wings, they were Dragon wings. As the wings passed through the shadows and places a bluish flame appeared and began to burn everything that wasn't solid. I could tell the shadows were writhing and screaming, they were screams of agony as they were consumed, the runes of protection disappeared and the magic that was in the place dissipated, but these flames didn't hit us, it was as if the people who were with me were immune to them.

Christopher's face was twisted and crazed, and he looked like he was about to snap. "I've lost everything, are you happy now? That cheap woman was nothing but a dead fish in bed. If you want her so bad, go look for her in hell. Hahaha... hahaha..." He laughed like a madman, holding a burning torch that could set off the explosives strapped to his body any second. Despite the deadly threat, David remained unnervingly calm. He acted like he had no fear of death and just took another drag of his cigarette while shooting Christopher and Carolyn a look of utter disdain and disgust.

They had a plan. Reyes turned slowly in place, taking in the scorched earth, the silence. The evidence was gone, scrubbed clean with fire and time. He exhaled through his nose, jaw clenched. Not defeated. Just angry. He raised the camera. “Bramley Lot—burned down. No signs of occupants. No heat. They’re gone.” A beat of silence. Then quieter: “They’re cleaning house.” He stood still a moment longer, then turned and walked back to the car.

The fight felt endless as I let go of my burning bow and unsheathed the sword, my amethyst flames consuming the blade. I had raced out and ended those that were cutting into the dragon as he fought those that Shifted. But their numbers were large and a dragon could only move so quickly in his massive size. He was bleeding deeply on his back after a handful of Shifters managed to get onto him, hanging on after he’d shook off a few others. So I raced up his wing and drew the sword, slicing, cutting and shoving anyone that dared to attack from behind.

Derora turned to darathos as she unsheathed her blade, "Your name shall no longer be darathos, I name thee firedran, flames of sorrow" derora said as he roared, "Where to derora?" He asked, She smiled as the veratus walked under the ray of sunlight, it did not affect them, derora motioned for them to move forward, "It is time we took Aratia by fire" she replied as he soared into the air, his wings leaving a blazing trail of fire, Herega was in for a nasty surprise....

“But you’ll be gone.” And then I moved. Faster than his eyes could track, faster than the witches could react. My fire took over. No more compromises. No more second chances. No more mercy. I felt it before I moved. The shift. My body became flame incarnate, no longer flesh but vengeance wrapped in heat. My wings of fire unfurled behind me—massive, burning brighter than anything I had ever conjured before. I wasn’t walking anymore. I was gliding, a being of wrath.

I can see the faint outline of what looks like wings spread behind her. Wings of fire that seem to take the shape of a heart… A piercing scream rips through the air as her power increases tenfold and surges into the sky, emanating in waves around her. I see the swirls of the flames behind her move before I see a tiny part of her left wing snap and shrivel into embers of ash. It’s too blinding to look at, and I’m forced to avert my gaze.
