She looks up at him, and I step forward, making my presence known.
“I’ll take it from here,” I say, my eyes meeting his.
He nods, not arguing that the song is not yet over, and Layla looks between us.
“Thanks for the dance, Julian,” she says, smiling up at him, and then she tip-toes. Cupping the back of his neck, she plants a soft kiss on his cheek, taking him by surprise too.
Their eyes lock as if a silent exchange is taking place between them. It takes everything I have not to let the anger or possessiveness consume me. Placing a hand on her waist, I pull her towards me.
