I turned through the pages of the spell book with shaky hands until I finally settled on what I was searching for. “Thrakos, Demon of the Underworld, Lord of Hell,” I whispered, my fingers tracing the forbidden verse. “He who commands the forbidden flames of the devil's domain,” my voice grew louder, desperation etched in my eyes, "I call thee, Thrakos. I summon thee to the mortal realm. Kneel before–” The sound of thunder cracking cut me short before I could complete my words. The ground began to rumble and the circle I had engraved on the ground expanded outwards as dark smoke clouded the entire place.

Jacob said suddenly. I just kept quiet and didn't react, because I was still quite shocked after knowing this fact. "If I don't make it in time, you will also be dead by then, Lucy Watts. And the sacrifice that Willyam Dormen makes will be in vain," Jacob said again. “Why are you helping me, Jacob Hayden Al Jabbar? and how come you know so much about me and Daniel?” I asked softly with a hoarse voice, my eyes could not take off staring at the two mounds in front of me.

Why was it following me?” I asked, searching his face for answers. “That… was Zion. He’s the demon lord hunting your coven. He’s also been after my pack, trying to take control ever since my parents died. He thinks I’m weak,” Jake explained, a hint of anger flashing in his tired eyes. “But I won’t let him take my pack, and I sure as hell won’t let him hurt you.”

The witches sighed while breaking the protection shield, of course—I am here in front of everyone to protect them.

When the demon raises its arm to bring down another decisive blow, I realize that I only have one option left. I’ve got to jump Jake’s body. The process is like forcing myself through a keyhole. Jake is there, but his mind is passive and yielding. I’m not sure if he’s even aware of what Amos is doing. The demon must be placating him somehow, showing him a pleasant vision in stark contrast to the hellish events that are unfolding around him in reality.
