I held up a hand, wheezing between laughter and trying to breathe. “I’m—okay—oh my God—that’s priceless.” He hovered over me, still tense. “You sure you didn’t hit your head?” I waved him off, clutching my stomach as tears streamed down my cheeks. “I’m fine but I'm sure your not.” I wheezed between fits of laughter "So you’re telling me she actually slapped you with your own money? That is… the funniest thing I’ve ever heard in my life.” Lucian didn’t look nearly as amused. His jaw tightened, though the corner of his mouth twitched like he was fighting not to smile.

“You good?” She swallowed a sob. “Y-Yeah! Just—just spilled coffee!” The demon chuckled darkly, licking his fingers with a slow, obscene slurp. “Delicious.” Her face burned with humiliation, tears pricking her eyes. “Stop doing this to me,” she whispered. “Please.”

Honestly, throwing me in jail might be the nicest thing they've ever done. The best part: from where I sat, I could still see the moon through the slit in the wall. I saw one of them start to move, and before I could blink, Demon raised a hand without even turning around. “Stand down,” he ordered them. They froze immediately. My hand flew to his collar, yanking him forward as I slammed my fist into the wall beside his head. He didn’t even flinch. “I swear, if you go near her—”

He shoots his hands forward and I swat them as he pleads, “Mari, please, you can’t ditch me” I scoff and sneer at him with grinning brows, “I just did”. I fold my hands after that, unwilling to talk to him anymore. This time, I hear cackles emanate from Zorien next to me and my gaze naturally averts to see him cackling cruelly at Ciel. “Is this your first couple fight? How elevating”. Oh, he’s laughing. The edges of his eyes crinkle with amusement, glimpses of his perfect dentition flashing as a fair expression blooms across his face. I stare at him, my attention swooning in uncontrollably as I stare at this laughing Demon.

He said and I started laughing "Damn you funny" I groan and burst into laughter "Why?" He asks confused "Bro Aqua might be down when it comes to me but that little creature of mine is a demon," I said still laughing at him "How?" He asks oblivious of what's happening, I know Aqua and can read her like a book, within the short time I've known her, I know she's messing with Ricco probably for him to start talking to Diamond, the dude is already wiped. I laugh.
