Ariana breastfed the baby a few minutes ago, so it was a good time to sleep now. “When you say that like this, it sounds so easy.” Ariana let out a long sigh. Was she really overreacting for nothing? It was going to be her first coronation. When the old queen received her crown in her country, Ariana wasn’t even born yet. Since then, there was no queen in her country. She never saw a coronation, so she didn’t know what to imagine under the word coronation. Daniel made it sound so important, heavy and difficult when explaining the full ceremony.

Blake commented. “What do you mean?” I asked. “If the coronation has happened before the next in line to the throne—that is, before the crown prince or princess finds their mate—then the current reigning empress or the royal consort oversees the coronation. But if it's to happen after they have found their mate, then it is the mate's duty to take care of the coronation.

he said softly, "has a condition." I paused, the bottle of Patron hovering in mid-air. "I'm listening." "The Kingdom of Regalia is in need of stability," he said. "We require a unifying figure. A bridge between our old ways and the new world. Our King is dying. We require... fresh blood." He paused for effect. Theatrical. I hated theatrical. "We require a marriage alliance." I choked on absolutely nothing. "Excuse me? You want me to marry someone? No. Absolutely not. I’m twenty-two. I have a Tinder profile to manage. I have a date on Friday with a guy who plays in a ska band."

he said, having lost some of the slur in his voice. "I love you. You were just using me to sober up, weren't you?" He winked, then took me by the hand and led me out of the room. *** Rowan was standing on the stage, facing the crowd as Dad pinned the royal broach of Drogomor on his sash. I was clasping Troy's hand, squeezing it, as the coronation took place. "What does the crest say? I can't see it from here!" I asked Troy, who narrowed his eyes as he peered up at the sash.

Zira called out, her eyes filled with enough worry that snapped me out of my thoughts, and I lowered my head, capturing her lips in a kiss that reminded her that she was now mine. Cheers and laughter sounded out from behind us, but I paid no mind to either of them, my mind only focused on my Zira. Eventually, I pulled away and rubbed her lips with my fingers. “Let’s proceed with the coronation ceremonial,” I instructed, my eyes moving between the three princes. Although they were all contenders to the throne, it still didn’t change the fact that they were also royal heirs and in the absence of any other authority, the responsibility fell to them very quickly.

I said, my voice low. He nodded, watching me as I walked away. I slipped toward the balcony instead once his attention shifted back to his father. "Levante, have you started arranging everything? The coronation will be held in your territory." "Yes, Father." His voice carried back to me, giving me the chance to step outside. Lumina was already there, holding a warm cup of tea. Her eyes gazed out into the dark woods, lost in deep thought. The morning air carried a cool breeze that brushed against my arms, raising faint goosebumps.

I can sense the hesitancy and then she smiles as Big Tom walks up to us, “The coronation happens by dusk. Don't be late.”

My father would like to organize a coronation. - It's a good idea, as it would allow the other Alphas to recognize you as their king. By inviting them, they can be sure you're real, and it would boost their ego to have the opportunity to shake hands with the king. His laughter shakes me to his chest. - I want my queen by my side then... - I don't need that title. Being a descendant of the Goddess is more than enough.

How could I forget to mention, that we were in the Royal municipal of Toledo where Adrian’s grandparents aka the retired monarchs resided? Everyone including my family was expected to attend the events leading up to the 256th Coronation.
