Descendants Dancing Novels & Stories

Ren said before he leaned back to enjoy the show. Just like when we had our lessons, there were a few musicians to help play the song that went along with the dance. As I had just told Ren, the dance that Jeely and I will perform today is the Dance of the Fireflies. According to Jeely, it was a dance used to welcome prestigious guests and is supposed to bring about good fortune to the viewer.

Their feet tapped the stone floor as they clapped and sang in unison, while the guitarist and harper played, adding melody to the music. One by one they took the floor, jumping and stepping from side to side as their bodies moved to the rhythm of the beats produced by the masses. "Ohh yeee… Yeee oh, the radiance of Asterra… We dance before the silver crown." Chorus: "Oh yee." She watched amongst the crowd, shoving her tiny dagger into her dress as she watched them dance. Beaming with smiles, she revealed her perfect teeth.

The celebration of the harvest festivals, to which other neighboring kingdoms were invited, is being observed. To the accompaniment of drums, trumpets, and musical instruments, ten attractive, youthful dancers with delicate, shimmering crystal wrap around their well-curved, slender body costumes, gracefully swaying their slender fingers and gracefully bending waistlines. All of this was happening while everyone was celebrating, even though the five-year-old boy found himself standing next to the emperor's throne, still unaware of the reason he had to be there with his two younger brothers and sister.

For a moment, I stand by the door, just taking in the madness before joining all the fun . Noah walks toward me, giggling as he pulls me inside. “Mummy, who will you dance with first?” he asks eyes full of excitement and mischief. I smile, pretending to be deep in thought as we head into the living room. “I don’t know. Who do you think is the best dancer?” I ask, and we both giggle again . “Uncle Desmond has got moves, Mummy,” he says making the stylists chuckle. I laugh. “That he does -he’s definitely got moves like Jagger.” I remember how he turned me around at the Moon Ball and executed a perfect pirouette ! It had taken me years of ballet school as a child to master it, but he made it lo

“Let’s go.” Mia and her Claire made their way down the stairs to the dance floor. The vibrant lights illuminated the room, and I watched as their bodies swayed in sync with the beat. Laughing and giggling, Mia and Claire seemed to be in their own world in the midst of the chaotic dance floor. I was happily watching Mia from the upper floor booth until I spied her mischievous grin.

Maya Cyrus counted the tickets for the second time before putting them into their envelopes. There were five tickets in total and she intended on giving them to her parents, siblings and Wanda at dinner later that day. The tickets were for a production by the American Ballet Theatre where she was a ballerina. Maya's interest in ballet was noticed first by her mother when she was six, and she joined an academy when she was seven. Maya served as an apprentice and joined some of the Ballet Theatre's production as a corps de ballet dancer but when she turned sixteen, she joined the theatre officially.

“You are the only one left in the mansion that I haven’t seen bust a move out here.” Ezekiel shot his cousin a look of thanks. The music started up just as they moved deeper into the crowd. Each dance went to a different song...and instantly Ezekiel knew that this dance was a traditional one in the Leopard Clan. It encompassed a heady mixture of beats, turns and quick swaying steps and hand movements. And it was only a dance someone who had been living in the Clan would know by heart. But to Ezekiels immense surprise Brandon seemed to already be familiar with the steps. Eventually realizing that Glen or Erin had taught him the steps Ezekiel melted into the dance with ease.

Why couldn't we have had that? Next, I dance with Avô, then Uncle Simon, and Enzi dances with his mother. Soon after, the whole dance floor is a flurry of giddy activity. I smile as Simon and Dara dance together like they are made for each other — which they are — they dance like no one in the world exists except them, and I thank the Goddess as there's hope for them yet.

I say, giggling like an idiot. The music playing at the dance hall changes to Despacito by Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber. “This is my song!” I take hold of Ken’s hand and drag him with me towards the crowd of people dancing in the hall. I stumble a few steps, but I balance myself and not fall face-first to the floor. “I like this version of you, Jaclyn. Where has it been all this while?” “In a bottle of whiskey.” He places his hands on my waist and together we sway to the music playing, adrenaline coursing through my veins as I throw caution to the wind. I’ve been a terrible dancer from the get-go, but I do my best to not disgrace myself on the dance floor.

It was really worth the effort! “Can we dance too?” she asked, and I smiled, getting up. I held my hand out for her to take. She did, and I escorted her to the dance floor. “Yay, Mom, and Dad are dancing with us!” yelled Adrian, drawing all attention to us. All my plans of a romantic dance crumbled to dust as a crazy peppy number started and they all joined in a group dance. Even Blaze and Chase were unstoppable while Lucy watched them from a distance!
