Devon was sprawled on the floor, absorbed in his puzzle game, completely oblivious.
“I’m changing the password later if he doesn’t stop fiddling with it, Ma,” she muttered, sending her son a sharp look.
Devon only glanced back at her, unbothered. Instead of apologizing, her son called out, “Amor, don’t forget my books, okay?”
“See, Ma? He doesn’t even realize what he did wrong because you spoil him,” she snapped, her voice rising into another lecture.
“Hush, you were the same when you were little. Worse, even,” her mother shot back, retreating into the kitchen.
