The silence stretched on, agonizingly long. Then, a shift. The whispers returned, but this time, they were different. A sense of awe, of wonder, permeated the once-tormented echoes. In Kairos's mind, he saw the Devourer, not as a monstrous entity, but as a vast, formless consciousness, its hunger momentarily satiated by the influx of new information.

Damien's smile vanished. His eyes were drawn to something else moving beneath the waves. A black shape, larger than anything he'd ever seen. He couldn't see it's eyes, or it's mouth, or any part of it's body really. Only the water around it, bending and twisting as if it moved with the current itself. The ships slowed, and one turned away. Another followed its lead, then the next, and the next. The entire formation turning away from the cliffs. Then the ocean exploded, a great wave rising into the air with enough force to swallow the ships whole.

The "Eraser Wave" was not a wall of water or fire, but a wall of absolute silence that moved through the vacuum at a fraction of the speed of light. As it approached Aethelgard, the vibrant azure sky began to bleed into a dull, necrotic grey, and the liquid quartz oceans beneath us started to simmer with a frantic, jagged energy. I stood at the primary resonance console of the First Mother’s Breath, my Tempered Heart drumming a steady sixty beats per minute, a rhythm I had to maintain as the universal metronome for the entire planet.

A shockwave raced across the countryside. It flattened forests. Split rivers. And rose toward the sky. Within the light, a colossal silhouette appeared. A dragon. Larger than any mountain. Its wings stretched from one horizon to the other. It wasn't flying. It was imprisoned. Massive chains of blue crystal wrapped around its body. One chain shattered. The sound echoed across the continent. The Devourer stared at the distant figure. Its confidence vanished completely. "No..." It whispered. "They must never awaken." Far away, another chain broke.

I stared at him in astonishment, as if I had seen an incredible monster. In the dark sea, the moonlight twisted and illuminated the underwater world. The surging white waves on the sea surface rolled up layers of waves under the gusty wind.The silver wolf showed its sharp teeth, biting my waist, like some sea monster carrying its prey towards an unknown nest. Its flowing silver fur spread out like the transparent fins of a fish in the sea, emitting a strange beauty. The giant wolf moved its body, the golden eyes revealing the ferocity of a beast. Its agile body pierced through the chaotic underwater currents, bringing me to the surface.

The view that had once felt like an escape now seemed like a cruel reflection of her inner chaos. The endless waves mirrored the storm in her mind, their rhythmic ebb and flow mimicking the battle between her conflicting emotions. The waves, relentless and indifferent, crashed against the shore, and with each surge, she felt her heart tighten further. How could something so beautiful—so serene—stand in stark contrast to the tempest raging inside her?

-RAINA’S POV- “My prayer is that our moon goddess will help us to grieve in waves. In this mournful period, it feels like the grief is crashing on us like an avalanche, but once we support each other and can be there for each other, the rapid flow of cold despair can melt into gentle healing waves that touch our souls. Soothing, warm waves that will heal us as we face each day together and get through it.” I managed to get through without weeping with as much as I could muster, despite the tightness in my stomach.

It was digging away at her determination. Between the pounding of the breaking surf, Izzy picked her way over the rock-strewn sand as quickly as she could. Each wave shoved them towards the cliff when it crashed into them, then tried to pull them apart, rip her legs our from under her and suck them both out into the raging sea as it receded. Every step seemed too risky to take, with stones to slip on or stub her toes on, or sand that seemed to slide out from under her as she put weight on it. Trying to fight the hopelessness of it, Izzy swung Siofra around so she could hold onto her rather than relying on the child’s own strength, but still it felt as though the waves would tear the apart. Author pov: "Since you didn't give me that desert, now I will take my favorite sweet. No other sweet can beat it's taste" Karthik said kissing Arvi's temple. Their faces were too close and both are not ready to break the eye contact it's like they are entered into another world. Both are lost looking into each other eyes forgetting about their surroundings without even blinking their eyes but their trance broke when they heard a click sound of the camera.
