He was smart enough to realize he couldn’t take us all alone. The winds from Gus picked up and I watched on as small tornado formed throughout the trees, picking up rogues and throwing them. I saw roots and vines growing up from nowhere, wrapping around rogue’s legs and throats and knocking them out. But the more fearsome thing I saw, was when the first rogue went up in flames. The flames were neon orange, and contained to one rogue at a time. Despite the heavy rain from my mate, these flames persisted until the rogue died and then moved on to another rogue. I made a mental note not to piss off my mate’s father.

I was happy and I had all the things I could possibly dream of having, but it sure as hell wasn't an easy ride to get here. Continue imagining that this rogue used sarcasm as a natural defence and had an answer for basically everything. I know how to make it work. However, I’m not sure I can say no to the Alpha even if I wanted to. He’s being generous with letting me using his shower. How can I turn him down? He’s always been so nice to me. He’s a good master. Out of all the people who could have purchased me that day, I got lucky. I was never one to really believe in the moon goddess because as rogues we were taught she only favoured pack wolves and that rogues were forsaken to her. If that was true then how come I ended up with a wonderful master.

Before the five-second cue was up for round two, Margaret heard fierce and loud snarls, the type of snarls that normally hit her eardrums when her rogue pack was surrounded by other rogues who were ready to attack to either steal their supplies or kill her to assimilate her followers into their own pack. Her survival instincts took over, and she opened her eyes to find that she was surrounded by more than ten rogue wolves, and she could see that a part of their shelter was already on fire. It was exactly like her vision.

The door was solid metal and rusted and the building numbers had fallen off long ago. Jason went to the door and knocked, giving me a here we go look. The door creaked open slowly. I had never understood pack members distaste for rogues until the scent of this man hit my nostrils. He smelled of rancid milk that had been left out in the sun. I didn’t understand what it was until Jason pushed himself between us to guard me from the man. “Can I help you?” The man asked. Squaring up solidly with Jason.

By lunch came about I grabbed my phone and made a call to cancel our lunch plans. “Hey babe, I am sorry but I am on my way back from the rogue camp. The smell down there is terrible. They were right, it's like a month-old rotting flesh and dead fish. I think the Blackblood Pack and their loyal following idiots have been trying to get the rogues to move back off protected land. Dumbasses just want to hunt them down.” I said annoyed. “I haven’t smelt any of that up our way.” He said confusedly why only the smell would be down the hill from the main compound?

His fur was dripping wet from the pond I had been about to jump into, and the excitement of my escape vanished when his heavy paw pressed down onto the center of my back, his claws digging into my skin. I groaned from the impact, my ribs protesting as I tried to wiggle free and failed due to the enormous wolf holding me down. A combination of fear and a thrilling kind of excitement that I didn’t quite recognize filled me as he released a low, threatening growl and goosebumps rose along my skin. We rarely had rogues this close to the border, but this was no ordinary rogue. From my brief glimpse of him, I knew I was in trouble before he had collided with me.
