That night, I knew her body was on the verge of giving in. But that was not how I wanted things to happen. Hell. I don’t even know what I want to happen between us anymore. I didn’t know I had such a book hanging inside my house. Had I known, I would have burnt it a long time ago.

His books told me otherwise. I didn’t break my rhythm, stacking, straightening, dusting as though nothing at all had caught my attention. But the pattern was set, and I never ignored patterns. Three days in a row. Three books building a trail into shadows. And I was already following. ~~~~~~ The fourth day. He returned. No glasses slipping down as he read this time. The book I was reading wasn't in sight, so I went exploring the shelves until I found it at the top. I opened it and began searching for information about my strange kidnapper and my nephew's father. It was then that I came across a title that caught my attention: “The Rise of Harvey Bloodclaw.”

She said. Never in my life have I ever been as confused as I was at that moment. It was one thing to read a book but her subtle warnings were something I knew I couldn’t even ignore. She walked away as quickly as she saw me and I hated to think that there was something underneath all of this that she wasn’t saying, I knew it but I just couldn’t place my hand on what it was exactly. “Strange.” I mummured. Despite her warnings, I opened the book, wanting to see what exactly she was warning me against. It wasn’t anything new, it was nothing that Sinclair hadn’t told me about so why exactly was the warning for?

Nothing. Not a whisper. Not a flicker. Until I blinked— And saw it. For half a second. A shadow burned into the page, then vanished. A figure, holding something, then... a scream. But when I looked again it was gone. I didn’t tell Nyra. Not yet. Not while Azric was breaking, not while the Council was closing in, not while we didn’t even know if the book was trying to warn us, or lure us in. Whatever it was, it wasn’t done with us.

, Alex holds my arm, worry written on his face. "Can you -", I point at the book. He climbs the podium and furrow his eyebrow. "There is nothing Sasha", he shocks me and I widen my eyes. What do you mean there is nothing? I stare at the book and I don't see anything. That is impossible. I flip and flip the pages and I don't see any of the drawings I saw earlier. Did I- was that a premonition? I stagger backwards. My head hurts so much and my vision became blurry.

“What the bloody hell is that?” I moved away from Ryker, my eyes were solely fixated on the book. Wiping away the shattered glasses, I did not care if it would hurt me. Once it was clean, I read the book to Ryker. “It is the Book of The Damned.” All I wanted was to get a hold of that book and satisfy my curiosity but when I did, I could feel the power surging from the book, my hands were painfully attached to it. Then the book opened, forcing my palm to hold it up the pages started to flip rapidly. So many images flashed through my mind but none of which I recalled. The book slammed shut and I blinked. I turned to Ryker and swallowed before finding my voice to speak, “Did you see that?”
